How very sweet! The winner even looks a little like the generous donor!

I hope it’s a TURBO and that it doesn’t have electrical issues. The early new generation bugs were plagued with electrical issues.

Agreed.
The neat part is that she learned about the life of this lovely lady by attending her funeral. The young lady seemed incredibly sweet and grateful. Not coincidentally, the young lady’s own car was falling apart so this gift from beyond came at the perfect time.
When my mom passed away, people I hadn’t seen in 30 years showed up. They all remembered her fondly as a giving, caring woman.
You never know how much of a difference you can make in this world.
How delightful that Dianne’s generous spirit got to touch someone she never met in this world, and how honorable it was for her extended family to respect her wishes and not keep the car for themselves.

“A great idea.”
No kidding, huh!?
I wonder if the winner asked anything about the life of the nice lady who died.

Our ‘62 bug didn’t have any issues at all...except the front and rear ends wanting to swap places if driven too hard. And an anemic heater that filled the cabin with stinky hot air. And that spongy gear shift linkage to the rear transaxle. And the location of the gas tank. And high school girls not wanting to be seen dead in it. And, and, and...

About two centuries ago a man died. He was proceeded in death by his wife and they had no children. Because he was a self made man he was snubbed by most of his financial peers and his social peers felt uncomfortable around him because of his money.
As his body lay in the church a stranger stopped in, seeing there was no mourners and no one had signed the book they prayed for the man's soul and signed the book.
A few weeks later they were visited by the dead man's lawyer. The man left all his money to be divided between "all who should attend my funeral". Since there was only one name in the book, they got the lot.

‘Absolutely. It'll pack the funeral home' — which it did. That's the secret of success! Just give the public what it wants.

First guy I dated had a souped up blue Duster with exhaust pipes on the side. He turned out to be jerk and laughed more than once when I forgot about those stupid pipes and burned my legs getting out of the car.
The man I married drove a 1972 VW Super Beetle with a Hertz shift. About 4-5 years ago, we were able to buy another 1972 VW Beetle. We’ve been married for 40 years.

I should do something like that. Attendees at my funeral will likely have a ten percent chance of winning. :-)
