Texas airport crash sees plane overshoot runway and crash into CAR driving down busy road

Yes, I was looking at McKinney National, and you’re right, it was Aero Country Airport. Looks like the road is Virginia Parkway, divided with two lanes each direction, so that could probably be called a busy road after all.

Per Google maps it’s only two lanes each direction, divided but not limited access; I thought it was 3 each direction along through there, but it looks like it may narrow down a mile or so east of the airport. Looking at a traffic count, it looks like there are only 10,000 to 20,000 vehicles a day on that stretch of Virginia Ave. The wider portions to the east run 20,000 to 40,000 a day.

Plane actually didnt crash, it did land fine

Overshot the runway and impacted a fence and a car.

I googled CYYJ; first hit was the Victoria Airport Authority whose website is passenger-facing. With most major airports the problem is idiot local authorities allowing subdivisions next door, followed by idiot homebuyers complaining about noise AFTER they’ve moved in.

That’s what it looks like. The car’s right side appears to be about three feet from the curb, and not many people park that badly.

LOL — my relative’s neighbors across their narrow street used to park directly opposite his driveway, making his exit very difficult. He talked to them about it, since there was usually room to park elsewhere, but they kept on doing as they pleased. Not long after he died, a tree in his front yard like the one in your meme was struck by lightning, fell, and crushed their car.
