A friend inherited a HD 1200 Sportster. It had been in a garage for 5 years. He took it to an HD dealer and they told him that it would cost $5000 to make it road ready. He tells me this and I laugh. I got it going for him for about $300. Oil, filters, battery, brake fluid, new gas, carb cleaner. Tires were good.
Ripoffs abound in the transport industry. Always seek another opinion.
I call them suckers.

Basically I was told that there is an issue with one of the battery modules but it’s gonna cost me 12k just for the parts because they need to replace the whole battery pack.

According to Brauer, the batteries regularly last much longer. Brauer is a dimwit

It gets expensive to “save da planet”.
An Ebike can cost 3-4k. You can get a nice used Yamaha scooter or a 250cc motorbike for that. Ebikes are more dangerous than scooters. Scooters have good brakes and suspensions and decent handling. Ebikes are spindly deathtraps. They dont have to meet any safety standards.

Same with my mother and younger brother. Mother got it only because she was forced to by her employer (the city) or get fired. In the case of my brother, he’s an extreme leftist and fell for the pro-vaccine propaganda and got the jab because he thought it was his duty to the community. He pestered me a couple of times to get the jab, but I ignored him and didn’t.
Now the both of them are dealing with new, major health issues. I cant really definitely prove it was the result of the vaccine. But the timing they began to come down with these new medical issues (at around the same time), the severity, and the similar effects on their bodies makes me suspect it was.
