Being young brats if there was one in the vicinity we would have tried!
The other cool thing I saw was a nighttime launch of a SpaceX rocket from Vandenberg. We don’t see much of that either in flyover country..
Just strange. A few sites give me trouble but most don’t. So, I blame it on the website. But, good suggestion.
In the 80s, I was stationed in San Diego. I had a friend who rented a small house on the bay. I was shocked when I first visited his house. The beach was about 12 feet wide and only about a foot below the road that fronted it. His house was only about a foot above the road. So a three foot wave would roll into his house. We were both from the East Coast, so I asked him why he was living there. His reply was, “I only rent and everything valuable is on the tables.” Oh yeah, his rent for this 800 ft bungalow was three times mine. I guess after you spend money on women and alcohol you waste the rest.
There is an automatic inference now. Ask any 5th grader.
The Santa Cruz pier has been severely damaged and Aptos/Capitola were crushed by waves again, after remodeling from last year’s storms...
Wow, that’s cool. All I ever heard was the rockets at Vandeberg. Never saw a launch.
I never understood why anyone with lots of money would build a home on a beach that has waves that can and do run thru the house. Besides that they are right next to other homes so no privacy at all. Open the doors and they get sand and salt blown into the home.
The launch was also visible from Phoenix. There is a night time launch scheduled for the 2nd. It should be viewable if the weather cooperates.
