Yep lol. I loved the NCOs who would be chain smoking before a PT test, finish their two miles and be smoking at the finish line yelling at their privates to get a move on it!

"...chain-smoked his entire way through a 26.2 miles race..."

Used to play full-court basketball with a group from work - one guy would light up after every break - just damn.

(I remember a picture of George McGinnis smoking in the 76ers locker room after a game - just damn).

He should have worn a smoking jacket for this run.

In China it’s the women who die from cooking using word stoves. The men work out in the fields and smoke.

I worked with a guy who smoked but won the Omaha Marathon prolly back in the late 80’s early 90’s. Always wondered how he would do if never smoked.

Dick Allen was my favorite baseball player. His 1972 MVP season was one of the greatest seasons I ever saw.

Yeah, I got to be a fan of his that year. Remember that game in '74 where he beat out an infield grounder that lead Nolan Ryan to loose a no-hit game in the bottom of the 9th, and the game.!? Man, Ryan was really pissed!

.

I think this is the most exciting 9th inning in baseball ever, with the help of the great Harry Caray of course.

I’m old enough to remember when Nolan Ryan and Frank Tanana were starting pitchers for the California Angels. There was a saying: “Tanana and Ryan and two days of cryin’”. After those two the Angels didn’t have much for starting pitching. Man I’m getting old.

Yeah, me too. I remember that you had some pretty decent pitchers that you traded for Bobby Bonds back in ‘75. I was disappointed that the Yankees traded him, but the trade did help us out back then.

I love talking about my grandmother who had one cigarette after dinner her entire adult life.

She never had any major illnesses—and died at the age of 106.

If she didn’t smoke would she have made it to 107?

Lol.

I talked to my doctor about knowing a guy that lived to be 88 smoking three packs of non-filter Camels and a fifth of Seagrams everyday. Watched him and his buddy eat slices of oranges with a shot chaser for breakfast before pheasant hunting!! Doctor said same thing, never know if he would have lived another few years or what but he also said that it could be genetics where I could smoke 5 years, get lung cancer but the guy I knew, never get it and do you want to roll the dice?
