Best General of the South.
I really liked his song “Waterloo”
Washington and Lee University is celebrating Martin Luther King Day.
I think they'll eventually change to Lexington University (named after the town).
You expected to see something?
Vagina used to have a Lee-Jackson day the Friday b4 milking day.
Just in case you forgot Southern Democrats made that happen with the Grand Wizard Sen Harry Byrd’s seal of approval.
Um….
Love Gen Jackson: a great role model of a commander.
“Just in case you forgot Southern Democrats made that happen with the Grand Wizard Sen Harry Byrd’s seal of approval.”
Lee-Jackson Day celebrations began in 1889 as a celebration of Lee’s birthday. It was the idea of Lee’s nephew who was the Governor of Virginia. In 1904 they added Jackson.
Harry Byrd, born 1887, was a US Senator from the Commonwealth of Virginia. He had no connection with the Ku Klux Klan.
Robert Byrd, born in 1917 and no relation to Harry Byrd, was a US Senator from the State of West Virginia as well as a member of the KKK. But maybe you were packing your post with errors to see if anyone was paying attention.
Are you related to red cap John Pelham?
“But maybe you were packing your post with errors...”
Guilty. These and more are some of the many other “facts” that I have heard repeatedly over time.
For example: Lee resigned his commission and submitted himself to Jefferson Davis for duty and was assigned the Commander of the Army of Northern Virginia. Some (more than a few) claim his sole purpose was ultimately to keep the Virginia aristocracy intact. Which is a persistent rumor given his various positions and post war status. An implied truth that circulates through various circles in the old dominion.
Interestingly The Army of Northern Virginia has morphed into a league of marxist soccer moms and Chad’s and other carpetbaggers who have ultimately turned Virginia leftist. They will reap what they sow. Maybe it it starting to unravel a tiny bit but that might be an illusion, the litmus test is who fills the Senate seats.
