There was a local banker who died in the 1990’s who was loaded. He had several businesses and he would show up at times during the lunch hour and often would help himself to the contents of his employees lunch boxes rather than buy his own lunch. Of course his employees said nothing and went hungry when this happened.
He was a deacon in the first baptist church and my wife ended up working for him and his son when she graduated college with a degree in accounting. She told them up front I am not saying as a teller as a career but would give them a fair days work for a fair wage. A little over a year after she started working she found another job that was more in line with her accounting degree and accepted the job and gave proper notice of two weeks to the bank.
She worked the first week and received a check for $7 and change to which she asked where is the rest of my paycheck? They replied we are going to be ordering bank dresses and uniforms next month and this is for your new uniforms. She said I will be gone at the end of next week why would I buy uniforms? That is the deal your next check will be roughly the same and she told them I’m not working for nothing and handed in her keys and walked out.
Unknown to us at the time, the bankers proceeded to then cancel her health insurance which was paid a month in advance and diverted that money to the uniforms. Which apparently is a big no-no where health insurance is concerned. In the meantime my wife filed a grievance with the state labor board and they began an investigation. When informed of the investigation the banker went to my father and asked him to force my wife to stop the investigation to which he said, that is between you and my daughter-in-law and I will not intervein either way.
The bankers son went to my wife’s father and was rebuffed quickly as well. At the end of the investigation the bank was written up and fined for several violations and forced to pay her entire salary and money for the health insurance premiums they stole and to add insult to injury the investigator made them re-write the check after they gave it to him and add interest for several months. They were rich but had the ethics or queer alley cats.
As my Dad and late father-in-law say, banks are not your friends.
The author is full of it. Check the McCarthy description.
Second, it’s not a Xmas movie. It just ends at Xmas time. No mention of Xmas until then.
“Practically all the Hollywood film-making of today is stooping to cheap salacious pornography in a crazy bastardisation of a great art to compete for the ‘patronage’ of deviates and masturbators.”
Boy, Capra sure got that right! If he could see the film industry, now, he’d probably be thunder struck.
I know it without clicking.

As The Dude would say: that’s just, like, your opinion!
I was going to post on this aspect, but everyone noticed it.
I discount every single thing this person wrote because of it. If she/he/it can’t be bothered to deviate from stupid Leftist a-hole speak to make a point, like the movie or hate it, it isn’t worth taking time to read the “analysis”.
I love the movie. There are scenes such as when George and Mary are on the phone with Sam; and George kisses Mary that make me cry everytime I see them.
Well, there’s talk of a woke remake that they may like better...
I watched it years ago. I didn’t really care for it. It was too depressing.
Back when SNL was funny!
I think it’s a great movie; it’s a lesson in how failure can turn into success and despair into hope. It shows how life can be depending on how one thinks and believes.
Interesting astronomical stuff in the movie, about Stephan’s Quintet:

“It’s better with The Lost Ending...“
I don’t even have to click your link so start laughing!!!
Dana Carvey as George! That forearm smash! lol!!!
The Best Years Of Our Lives, the film that won the Oscar that year, is much better.

Boy oh boy, what would Mr. Capra write today!?
Ha! Yup.
