Poles should, but they are divided. Just as Americans are divided
I’m saying that you seem to have some obsession with Putin when Tusk is acting FAR WORSE.
You must be kidding - Tusk is a fool. Putin is a murderous fool.
The way you fawn over Putin who is murdering thousands of white Eastern Orthodox Slavs, is appalling
“leading Europe back to its glory days before WW1.”
Before WW1? Only the UK, France, Benelux and Germany had those “glory days”
Spain and Portugal were dirt poor and in the midst of continuous revolutions.
The Baltics, Finland, Poland, right down to Romania were under Russian or German colonization and the locals were treated badly - the Russians put in heavy Russification methods in the Baltics, Poland etc. and the Germans did the same in Poland and their part of the Baltics.
The Balkans were either directly under Ottoman Turkic Islamic rule or recovering from it.
Italy, Sweden and Norway were so poor that many millions emigrated to the USA for a better life.
“Europe’s glory days” is only if you look at it through English,French, Dutch, Belgian or German eyes. A guy using the tag “Jan Sobieski” would not write that if you knew anything about Jan III Sobieski
On that I agree - but note that Pilsudski was NOT like his rival Dmowski —> Pilsudski wanted a multi-cultural state
Of course this meant cultures that had lived in the Rzeczpospolita (Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth) for centuries - but that included not only European Poles, Ruthenians, Lithuanians, Livonians, Romanians, Belarussians, etc. but ALSO Jews AND Muslim Tatars (the Muslim Tatars were heavily Polish patriotic).
Dmowski wanted the forced Polonization of the peoples living in inter-war Poland. In my opinion, this forced Polonization alienated the Ukrainians and Belarussians AND Jews
Agreed. Pilsudski had the right idea to make Poland a part of a strong Central European state that rejected both Germany and Russia. The forerunner to today’s Visegrad Group.
PiĆsudski himself was a polonized Lithuanian.
