You don’t even know me, how can you say that?

On a recent check-in at the doctor’s, I checked YES about “Does your spouse yell at you?”

When they asked me about it, I said she yells at me every morning until I put my hearing aids in.

Though I don’t understand why a nurse is asking a colonoscopy patient if he feels safe at home from domestic violence.

It's DC. The nurse may have to ask colonoscopy patients if they feel safe from domestic violence at home because the doctor has found evidence of domestic violence in patients' colons.

My problem getting a date in DC was that there were no decent men.

What non-narcissistic man would live there?

TWO THUMBS UP!!!

Since RVN I have been severely to profoundly deaf.
For about twenty years the VA said there is nothing that can help. hearing aide at that time simply amplified the sounds, not helpful to my problem.

Around 1990 a friend said there was a new high-tech hearing aid and should check it out.
By then I had lucked into an exceptional job with gold-plated insurance.
They worked and my insurance paid for them (~$10k)and all later ones, until 0bamacare.
The newer aids have speech recognition, noise canceling, fully programmable...

Turns out my insurance was TOO GOOD! According to 0bama.

Now I can have a sex change! Fully paid!!!

But only $1,500 per side for hearing aids.

Now I need to trudge off to the VA because my current ones are on their last legs.

So my wife says put your hearing aids on, and my audiologist says get on over to the VA.

I keep putting it off.

OH MY!

I worked with a great engineer, he was born here, his father served in the US Army, was born in India.

My engineer friend had an arranged marriage to a young lady from India.

She is as cute as a bug in a rug.
His parents have a large house in a nice suburb and added a large addition for the new family...

The engineer had acquired a liking for cheeseburgers from a nearby restaurant.
One day a goofy trainee announced to the entire office, “that if he ever went home early with cow on his breath, there would be big trouble at home.”

The honeymoon was in a castle on an island, very pretty.

He is now a family man with two kids, living happily ever after.

Speech Recognition? I hadn’t seen that on hearing aids. Makes sense, though. I’ll check that out the next go-round.

The ones I have are from Miracle Ear. They are cheaper and do a much better job than the expensive ones I was getting from my audiologist.

Speech Recognition?

And directional too!

I still remember my first public outing with my first hearing aids. They gave a list of settings to try and take notes, so the aids can be adjusted to my preferences.

A restaurant, our meal was being served, and out of nowhere where I could hear people talking!!!!

It was the table behind me and the aids detected speech and zoomed in on it.
After that, I had them set for priority to the front/sides.

I love the directionality and frequency controls.

I’m always telling people that I’m not playing with my phone while they are talking to me, but I’m adjusting my hearing aids so I can hear them better.

I was at a funeral this week, trying to talk to a relative I hadn’t seen in decades. I adjusted my hearing aids directionally and frequency. Somehow, I could clearly hear three women talking amongst themselves from the other side of the building and couldn’t hear the man I was next to.

I think my hearing loss is from standing directly in front of roaring lions when I was a zookeeper.

When we first moved to TN, the PCP questionnaire asked about guns in the home. Also, if we had throw rugs in the home.

Those questions disappeared. I figure the Tennesseans didn’t take too kindly to that crap.

I’d never know “you” were a gun owner unless you told me, and I don’t care anyway. But if you’re a smoker, you reek.
