One thing modern fighters can’t do is handle stalls with those skinny wings. One glitch in the computer stabilizing system or a slight loss of power at slow speeds and they drop.

The aircraft, as evidenced by cellphone video, was stable till crashing. But it had lost power, either a bird-hit or a flameout of its single GE F404 engine.
