here’s an idea: Give Haiti to the Swiss and let them run it. Streets would be clean, money solid, whatever makes sense from the tropical location as development the Swiss would find it. including courting secret stashes of money. Cayman islands 2.0. Make Swiss french the language.Problem would be solved.
Of course the Swiss wouldn’t want the mess. They are clean freaks.
If ever a nation needed communism—its Haiti. A bit of Marxism and Chinese money could end the corruption and tribal gang culture. Poor leadership and rampant corruption will rule until a tyrant comes to power and rules with an iron hand by fear and death. I predict the uSA will invade yet again.

Yes, there are fewer miles between Haiti and the Dominican Republic and nearby islands and Cuba and then there is Central America, etc. They could choose any independent country or France or the English Commonwealths but noooooo, this is just another hit piece to make the US accept illegals, uh, hmm, asylum seekers even though they will have passed through more than one country.
