Watching these guys effortlessly writing and refining songs that stand the test of time is incredible. Paul McCartney reminded me of the guy in the movie "Yesterday". It's like he knew all the music already and just needed to convey to everyone else how it was supposed to go. Amazing.

Abbey Road is the best Album ever made. The White Album is second. Sgt. Pepper is WAY overrated.

Paul’s work is all the more amazing in that he cannot read music.

“ Sgt. Pepper is WAY overrated. ”
Yeah.
It’s probably their weakest album.
It just came out at the apex of the hippie crap so it’s hyped and associated with “The Summer of Love” etc…

I think George had more talent than John.

Camille Paglia made an interesting point, that John lost his charm, humor, and humanity once Yoko sunk her hooks into him.
Judging from Get Back, she also stole his creative spark.
Indeed, post-Beatles, George and Paul released some mega hits and great tunes.
John’s post-Beatles output was a bunch of nonsense. His highlight was Fame, which was all Bowie.

Is “Mother Mary” in the song a reference to Mary, the mother of Jesus? Or someone else?
Paul McCartney’s mother was named Mary. She died when he was a boy. It is believed he communicated with her (necromancy)
