Plenty of Rat's but there's not one mention of any Republicans challenging Moron, er, Moran. Waiting for RINO's to apply?

Most seats in the House are very gerrymandered. I'm guessing it would be impossible for a Republican to win in Moran's district. This is the same reason a Republican didn't challenge Cynthia McKinney. No sense in wasting our resources in a fight we can't win. Instead, let a better Democrat challenge a worse Democrat.

That's pretty much it. The only real reason you saw any Rats criticizing Moron is that it's a safe seat, comprising most of the People's Republics of Arlington and Alexandria.

At the same time there's plenty of time for a credible GOP candidate to emerge. Don't think that because you haven't heard about it that it isn't in the works. (I have no inside info, but I'm sure they're talking it over)

There's the old Maxim (not the magazine) that when your opponent is destroying himself, don't interfere in any way.
Maybe that's the reasoning. Or, they could be following the example of the Mass Republican Party; say nothing and hope you win elections statewide.

Peoples Republic of Alexandria could not be a better description. I feel like I am the only republican in Moran's district. Just hoping someone who fits the old description of "Southern Democrat" will make a challenge.

The 8th District is hopelessly liberal, and was made even more so after the latest redistricting. Such a large percentage of its residents work for the federal government that it will never vote for the party of smaller government. Plus, for the most part, its residents are as leftist as Nancy Pelosi on social issues. The only Republican who can win there is a Connie Morella-type RINO (I think Morella's ACU ratings were 22% in her last term). Some may believe that if Moran runs for the Dems, a disgusted electorate may vote for the Republican and we may pull an upset, but if Moran survives the primary, he's likely to survive the general. I think we're better off letting the Dems clean up after themselves and kicking that moron out of Congress.

It's like the Gary Condit situation. This man is so well entrenched that the RNC and Virginia state Party committees don't even bother helping Republican candidates who run against this guy.

Unless there's a dead intern in this guy's future, he's going to be sitting on that seat for a looong time.
