In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Good Morning Students. Welcome to class!

Class is now in session. The rules are simple; you get a grade if you use the WFTD in a sentence, haiku, limerick, or quatrain. You get a "+" if you make a link, or make the teacher laugh, or you offer the appropriate bribes. I hold the grade book; the whip and chair.

Without objection, the Republicans and one Democratic senator approved a resolution to fine the lawmakers starting at $1,000 a day, and the fine would double for each day they miss the session. The fine is not to exceed $5,000 a day.

Oh well, now this is extremely sweet. Those damn chickens have run, acting like spoiled brats afraid to face something they don't like. Then, while the whiners are in NM, they cry because they can't be home with their loved ones, or that they are missing vacation, or any other such nonsense. Now, the Senate has levied a fine, and quite a nice one it looks like.

You know, I always thought that if the Dems ran, the Republicans would fold (they do have a tendency to do that on occasion), but now, the longer the dims stay gone, the madder the people get, and now, in Texas' inimitable way, we're going to fine the bejeesus out of them. What fun. And do you all see? The one lone democrat who stayed and is doing his job, approved the fine! LOL

Come home you chickensh&ts, do the job you were elected to do. Quit running, quit whining, and for goodness sake, sit your butts down and shut up!

(TX)Senators vote to fine absent Democrats

A fine against them.
Inimitable Style
Texas dims lose all!

i have no patience for the purists, the idealists, who in their inimitable fashion, continually WHINE about the fact that Arnold is not a conservative. I cannot fathom those that are so smug in their idealism, that they are oblivious to the fact that they never ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING...

Hugh Hewitt hews close to the bone generously gerrymandering George Wills wild, woolly wistful musings on the recall in his own inimitable style (Halfway down, excerpted here...)

....Still, no matter how unlikely John's(Fund's) concerns are, at least he didn't fall into harumpphhery like George Will. Will seems to think that the AS candidacy is a threat to Reagan's legacy, and obviously upset at the prospect, unleashes this one: "Truly conservative Californians --you few know who you are-- will vote against the recall to protest its plebiscitary cynicism." Oh yeah, that's right. Forget the illegally tripled car tax, the hot-check written to paper over the deficit, the crumbling schools, the clogged highways and of course, the transgenedered-at-work protection act and the inane family leave for sick puppies act. Written like a man with a nice bank account and secure work, living in an earthquake free zone where fires never break out and spread uncontrollably, who can afford an extra $600 per car and doesn't mind that the local high school is turning out graduates who need to be retrained before they are employable. True conservatives, in other words, sit on their butts and watch institutions and economies collapse so they can feel good about themselves until it is time to relocate to Florida like Tiger Woods.

Morning!

Fine the democrats $1000 a day
To show them they can't always have their way.
Fine them till their bank accounts bleed
And the voters see their inimitable greed.

EXTREME LEFT is the Worst but EXTREME RIGHT suffers the same problem. The real people are between the two and the middle gets things DONE.

"That is Schwarzenegger's big contribution. His candidacy will change minds about voting Republican. "

This is all about great marketing. You introduce them to voting Republican with Arnold and in the future may keep voting R while you adjust the product (aka more conservative Republicans)
