I remember a great episode of Frasier where they called a plumber who whose crack was showing. The Frasier boys were having a hoot about him, till they saw his bill....

I have Southern roots, and I love the South and most Southerners. That being said, there is no better place to people watch than a Wal Mart on a Friday night in a small Southern town...

Walmart is such a great place for tattoo and folks not 'dressing for their shape'. It's just about my all time favorite place to shop. It's a cornucopia of the tasteless and I love it.

Our reporter, Mike Evans, reports a Monica sighting in SoCal. He said that she appears to be pushing the 250lb. barrier, and not looking back. Bless her heart.

Guilders, prayers please for my dear mother. She's been declining rapidly in the last couple of weeks...that's why I've been so scarce here. As of last night, I believe she has very little time left. Her name is "Tillie"...a real southern lady.

Heavenly Father, You have been pleased to give all human beings the joy of having a mother, one who works with You to give them life and bring them to human adulthood.

You have given followers of your Son the added joy of a Christian mother, who works with You to give supernatural life to a child and to bring up that child to Christian adulthood.

Over the centuries there have been countless such mothers---heroic, courageous, loving, dedicated, and unconquerable. They have given us the Christian Ages and Christian Saints and in the final analysis the Christian Faith. Without them, there would be no Church, no religious vocation, and no Christian influence in the world. Most of these mothers are unsung in the eyes of the world; they must be content with little things: a smile, a thank you, and a token of remembrance.

In your eyes, however, they are of inestimable worth. Your Word in the Bible uses a mother's love to describe your overwhelming love for your people, and Jesus uses the image of a mother bird to indicate his love for his people. Most of all, when He wants to convey an idea of the joy of those in heaven, He does so by using the image of a mother's pure joy in bringing a child into the world.

Dear Lord, let me honor my mother if she is living and remember her in prayer if she is dead. Pour down your grace on her and on all mothers on this day dedicated to them.

Amen.

Prayers going up for Tillie, a true Southern lady and there aren't many tributes finer than that.

I and other Guilders remember your many posts about your Mom, especially her delight and fun watching Stewart on t.v. a couple of years ago in that very exciting golf tournament.

What a lovely prayer...I lost my Mom almost three years ago and I still grieve for her and recall all of her special love for me and my sibs and am in awe of it.

Maybe our mothers are hanging out together in Heaven...waiting for the rest of their families to join them there.

Old FReD - nothing quite like an orange tabby tom cat, is there?

Cheers out there, DS.

Thanks for posting the photo of the scarecrow in waiting. I found that picture late last night on an Adkins Support Group site. It was posted to emphasize to a young woman she needs to raise her goal weight a bit.

Sue me, but I don't think that nekkid pic is so bad.

Have missed you bwb, and am glad you are back. I think any picture of Al Franken would be worse than that nekkid pic.
