Why Spanish Election results are irrelevent to US War on Terror
3/15/04 | John Knight

Journalists, political pundits and other Hysteric Left activists are desperately trying to spin some cosmic significance out of Sunday's Spanish elections. The "conventional wisdom" is that the Spanish Election results are some sort of significant defeat for President Bush and the War on Terror. As usual the "News Media's" thinking is neither conventional nor wise. What all the various activists miss is the reality of American Exceptionalism. As much as the International Political Left hates, and try's to deny, the reality is the USA operates on a completely different political level then the rest of the world. On Sunday, the Spanish people said "Hey this is not our fight. Let the American's do it". Spain has that luxury. Like the rest of Europe for the last 60 years, Spain has the luxury of choosing to hide behind the US's defensive shield. There is no shield welded by others for the US to hide behind. We always will be the terrorists main target. No matter how desperately the Hysteric Left tried to deny reality, the US shares no common ground with the Islamic Terror Network. The only thing the Terrorists want from the USA is our death. For us there is no other choice but victory. The American people understand that. We have faced these sorts of foes before. Too bad our Political Chattering class seems unable to learn the same lesson.

Teacher: Johnny, can you locate Spain?

Johnny: Yes, teacher. It's hiding behind America's skirt.

The big question in my mind this morning is: Was there collusion between Al Queda and the Spanish Socialist Party in the Madrid train bombing?

The European opposition against the coalition, opposition in the UN, and some Congressional Democratic opposition, looks fishy now in light of revelations of oil contract bribery by Saddam's regime.

al-Qaeda has effectively influenced an election to their liking. This is a very dangerous precident.

The students at www.aurepublicans.blogspot.com have some excellent insights on the Spain bombing and its political ramificaitons, just scroll down a bit.
