Ground Zero in 2002 South dakota Senate Election: Shannon COunty
South Dakota Dept OF State ^ | 11/2002 | State of South Dakota

Shannon County South Dakota? Never heard of it? I remember following the returns precinct by precinct two years ago on the night of the Thune-Johnson Senate election. One county never showed up on election night and that was Shannon County. Thune was leading when all other counties had reported. Well, the next morning, Shannon went for Johnson by a margin of 10-1. That margin was larger than the margin (in either direction) of any other county in any other race that year. In fact, it was so out of the ordinary... this is where the election was stolen - plain and simple. It could happen again. But all it would take would be for 2500 GOPers who sat 2002 out to get in the game and negate Shannon COunty.

Was Shannon county the one where Johnson's charity group dumped a bunch of toys and clothes right before the election? That always seemed like a "trinkets-for-votes" bribery attempt. He ignores the reservations the rest of his term.

Did the SD dept of state actually write that? I doubt it.

In the June special election, Shannon went 96% for the rat candidate.

I did some research on Welfare a while ago and excerpted a bit about Native Americans. Shannon County was accused of Voter Fraud during the Thune race. There is a national review article in my link that goes into detail over this.
Shannon county is the second poorest county in the nation. In 1990 it was the poorest. In the word of the Shannon County GOP head it's 'pure communism'. It is really, really a crying shame no one is doing anything about this. Government IS the problem. This is described in this link:

People need to keep a close eye on those counties during this senate race. And people need to get the word out to Native Americans that life is NOT improving under Democratic leadership.

Tremendous post! I am praying that Daschle is not returned to the US Senate for SIX MORE YEARS on the stregnth of this sort of illegality. I hope SD is crawling with GOP poll-watchers. Maybe as the battleground states become fewer, more resources can be deployed up there to retire the soft-spoken, diminutive Minority Leader.

Thanks. It is so very sad what is happening to these Native Americans on these Reservations and the worst part is that they will vote 90% for Daschle, cuz of the Democrat/media propoganda. This information needs to get out to Native Americans. The press of course, portray Republicans as hurting the poor and minorities and all this... In actuality, Conservatism aids the poorest of the poor the most. My discovery of this was what initially led me to the conservative ranks.

Bingo! You've zeroed in on just what needs to be happening now.
