The last of U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris' key staffers appear ready to abandon her campaign for the U.S. Senate in a wave of resignations expected to start this weekend.
Sources close to the campaign said Friday that the defections would touch virtually every level of her operation.
Harris, who is running against Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson, is likely to lose her chief political strategist, her campaign manager, her spokeswoman, her director of field operations and even a traveling aide who helps hand out stickers at campaign appearances.
It is the latest and most dramatic indication so far that her campaign is on the verge of collapse.
"I've never seen staffers go like this," said David Johnson, a Republican pollster and consultant. "It's just imploding."

"Now, however, staffers may be as big a concern as money.
"Right now, I don't think anybody with any credibility would touch her," Johnson said.
"I'm not sure what she can do.""
What more can go wrong?
The way her campaign is going, maybe she needed a complete shakeup of her campaign staff.
Write this one off.
You cowardly fool!
It's just because you don't beeeellllliiiiieeeeeevvvveeeeee enough!
It's not the staff, it's the candidate.
"The way her campaign is going, maybe she needed a complete shakeup of her campaign staff."
The problem is, you can't fire the candidate, and that's what needs to happen here. We can applaud Harris all we want for her work in 2000, but the fact is she has made a terrible Senate candidate and can't possibly win. If we want a chance to defeat Nelson, we need a new candidate.
maybe she can pose for one of those middle aged women of Florida Playboy issues - this way all the freepers who keep posting those pictures of her prominent rack on those various horses, can get something out of this campaign at least.
There's no denying that Katherine Harris is very beautiful. So is Sharon Stone, but who would support Sharon Stone for the Senate?
