I'd say of the state's you mentioned, the only areas I have any knowledge of would probably be Billings and Boise.
Billings is pretty conservative. Western Montana has been Californicated. Too bad.
Boise is still mostly conservative but with the number of arriving emigrants, it may not stay that way. I live near Pocatello which is the most unionized, dummiecrat part of the state. Still, its WAY more conservative than most places.
Oh, I nearly forgot Sun Valley / Ketchum (easy to do) which was the only county to go dummiecrat in the '04 election. However, there are so few people there - and most of them are extremely RICH dummiecrats who just use Idaho as their playground - that they really don't count for much. Some guy name John Heinz Kerry has a villa there...
