U.S. Rep. Dave Camp got more company this week atop Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney's Michigan campaign team.

Camp, R-Midland, has been a co-chairman since January.
Romney announced this week that Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard endorsed him and will be a co-chairman.
The other co-chairmen are U.S. Reps. Pete Hoekstra of Holland and Joe Knollenberg of Oakland County's Bloomfield Township and Michigan House Republican Leader Craig DeRoche of Novi.
Former Lt. Governor Dick Posthumus is honorary chairman.
Bouchard, Michigan Republicans' 2006 U.S. Senate nominee, got 41 percent of the vote as he lost to Democratic incumbent Debbie Stabenow. The Romney campaign didn't mention that race in its news release.
Romney, in his prepared statement, said Bouchard "has worked tirelessly to protect Michigan residents by leading the charge to protect our children and keep criminals off the streets."
Bouchard noted that Romney "recently proposed federal legislation, 'One-Strike, You're Ours,' to crack down on Internet predators who seek to harm our most precious asset, our children."
Camp has explained that Romney's executive experience and role in turning around Massachusetts' economy are two key reasons he backs the former Massachusetts governor.
Michigan-born, Romney is a son of former Michigan Gov. George Romney and former U.S. Senate candidate Lenore Romney.
Michigan roots are a plus for Romney's campaign in the state, but weren't decisive in Camp's decision, Camp has said.

Romney’s Michigan roots may well be one of the most underreported aspects of the campaign. It’s worth noting that the state’s Democrat Governor has a 66% DISAPPROVAL rating in the latest poll, which gives the GOP a shot there. IMHO, Romney would be best-positioned to take advantage of it.
