This is a special election to replace the deceased Republican U.S. Representative Paul Gilmore. Whoever wins the Republican nomination on November 7 will be heavily favored to win the general special election on December 11. So let's send a "True Republican. True Conservative."
HEY! That just happens to be State Sen. Steve Buehrer's campaign slogan! What a coincidence.
According to the Club for Growth's profile in their endorsement of Sen. Buehrer, he fought against the now disgraced former Governor Bob Taft's runaway taxing and spending before it was cool. He did was what right, even though he knew it would make him unpopular with the state's GOP brass. He did what was right, even when it was hard.
His "chief primary opponent," State Sen. Robert Latta, on the other hand, showed no such courage or conviction. He voted for A BILLION DOLLAR TAX HIKE!

Well, well. It turns out that Bob Latta is the Second Coming of Bob Taft. No thanks.
This is not a marginal district. Conservatives can afford to go whole hog here. Steve Buhrer appears to be the real deal.
Here’s a special election primary with a lot more at stake than is realized. It’s between Business As Usual and standing up for conservative principles in a conservative district.
Too bad about Latta, but bad votes are bad votes, and he shouldn’t get his dad’s old seat.
I wonder which of the two will Gilmor's wife endorse.
A bit overstated. Bob Latta lost in 1988 to Gillmor in the GOP primary trying to succeed his dad.
I wouldn’t presume to comment on a race I know nothing about. The Field Marshal, though (my homie) knows more than anyone would want to know, because he’s a savant without the idiot part where political analysis is concerned. It’s what he does better than anyone. If he cites bad precedents concerning the Latta family I’d believe it.
I actually knew Steve Buehrer when I worked for the Ohio House of Representatives. He’s a stand up guy and would be a fantastic addition to Congress.
