You are such a “Paul Hater”

I'm assuming that's supposed to be a bad thing.

Medved may very well be wrong on Rudy, but is he also wrong is his listing of the bulk of Ron Pauls’ support?

“If Mr. Paul were to disavow and dissociate from these people, there would be no issue.

Why do you suppose he doesn’t?

Because he’d drop like a rock in the polls.....oh, wait, never mind.

Is there a numner less that zero?

Check #16, in this very thread. And then take a gander at the actual comments themselves (if you think your stomach can actually handle it).

Their own responses are infinitely more damning than anything anyone else might ever conceivably say, either to or about them.

I’m not surprised. I’ve been on other forums in the past and debated “that kind.” It’s simply a waste of time and if these lunatics had enough resources to move out of mommies basement they might even be dangerous.

Why Is Ron Paul’s Campaign Paying Alex Jones?
http://www.captainsquartersblog.com/mt/archives/015553.php#comments
The question of what Ron Paul represents has burned through the blogosphere this week, followed shortly afterwards by a revelation about an apparently unsolicited donation from a white supremacist. Today brings a much more revealing look at the Paul campaign, as Hot Air and MVRWC have discovered a payment from Team Paul to Alex Jones — the 9/11 Truther leader — for $1300 in “services”. Allahpundit notes:

Assuming it’s the same Alex Jones, which seems a safe bet, pray tell what might that payment have been for? The likeliest explanation is that it’s some sort of service fee, either Jones doing something on behalf of the campaign or allowing the campaign to do something using his property. Either way, I’m mighty curious to know what special service might have been provided such that Paul’s people couldn’t have gone elsewhere and gotten the same deal from someone who isn’t a degenerate conspiracy theorist.
This goes much closer to the heart of Paul’s direction. While anyone can contribute to a political campaign, the choice of where the money goes is directly and completely relevant to an analysis of the candidate. If Paul chooses to help fund a 9/11 Truther, voters can reasonably conclude that Paul has sympathy for the paranoid conspiracy theorists.

The Paul campaign really has to explain their support of Alex Jones, more so than they need to explain the David Black contribution. So far, they haven’t explained either one.

It is strange to see your strong approval for U.S. military force being projected overseas in a nation building exercise considering your reaction to same when Clinton was C.I.C. Did you do all you could to support our men fighting in the Balkins or did you belittle their efforts and make posts such as...

NO NEW ENLISTMENTS
Well come no all of you big strong men uncle sam needs your help again got himself in a terrible jam way down in viet nam so put down your books and pick up a gun we're gonna have a whole lot of fun...everybody sing.......1.2.3.

Have you noticed all the advertisements on TV for the Air Force recently. You can't turn on the tube without seeing one. And ABC News ran a piece last night that could have been called "Top Gun Goes To The Balkans". These guys are desperate for some warm bodies to throw on the fire. Don't let it be your kid.

That was from a thread titled:
Bond claims misinformation from White House

St. Louis Post-Dispatch: Washington Bureau
28 April 1999 By Philip Dine

WASHINGTON -- Sen. Christopher "Kit" Bond Tuesday accused the White House of misleading Americans on the costs and the planning for the military action in Kosovo

Comments like these were common then:

To: rface
With public support of the bombing going down and the recent accidents now would be the time for the Republicans to stand up. I think the public is tiring of this war and are starting to understand just how drawn out it's going to be. The new Gallup polls show a steady drop in support for both bombing and ground troops.

Will the Republicans stand up? Most don't even stand when they take a leak so I doubt they will stand up now and force Clinton's hand. Congress needs to cut off the money supply quick.

This new found patriotic fevor for nation building wars just gives one the warm fuzzies don't it...hippy?

I'll start having a little fun with the archives on these RP threads...wonder how many more "converted peacenicks" are now chest thumping war mongers?

I don't want to hear 911 changed everything either...we didn't buy that when Clinton tried to use it after the first WTC bombing or the Oklahoma bombing.

Maybe a little history of our own little conspiracy theorists here during the Clinton day would also be in order. Wanna see some?

Willis Carto
Willis Carto

Willis Allison Carto (born July 17, 1926 in Indiana) is a longtime figure on the far right wing of American politics. He describes himself as Jeffersonian and populist, although the Anti-Defamation League and other critics say he promotes thinly-disguised antisemitism and Neo-Nazism.

[]

Influences on Carto

Willis Carto was known to be a devotee of the writings of Francis Parker Yockey. Yockey was one of a handful of esoteric writers during the post-World War II era who researched Adolf Hitler. Yockey's best known book, Imperium, was adopted by Carto as his own guiding ideology. Later, Carto would define his ideology as Jeffersonian and populist rather than National Socialist, particularly in Carto's 1982 book, Profiles in Populism. That book presented sympathetic profiles of several United States political figures including Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson, as well as the controversial Catholic priest Father Charles Coughlin and Henry Ford. Critics charged that the book all but ignored Coughlin and Fords' virulent antisemitism, and that Carto remained a devotee of Yockey throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

The Anti-Defamation League, as well as other critics, believe that Willis Carto, more than anybody else, was responsible for keeping organized antisemitism alive as a movement in the United States during the latter half of the 20th century and into the 21st century. These critics have noted that Carto has founded some organizations, such as Liberty Lobby, with the intent of appearing to be respectable conservative, populist, or anti-Communist organizations, while founding other organizations that were racialist or National Socialist in nature.

Liberty Lobby and Newspapers

In 1955, Carto founded an organization called Liberty Lobby, which remained in operation under the control of Willis Carto until 2001, when the organization was forced into bankruptcy as a result of a lawsuit. Liberty Lobby was perhaps best known for publishing the newspaper, The Spotlight, between 1975 and 2001.

Carto and several "Spotlight" staff members and writers have since founded a new newspaper, called the American Free Press. The paper includes articles from syndicated columnists who have no direct ties to Carto or his organizations. As in its predecessor, it takes a populist tone and focuses on conspiracy theory, nationalist economics and Israel. One of its writers, Michael Collins Piper, hosts a weekday talk show on shortwave radio that is pointedly anti-Zionist.

Other activities in the 1950s and 1960s

In 1966, Carto acquired control of The American Mercury via the Legion for the Survival of Freedom organization. The magazine was once a highly respected periodical associated with H.L. Mencken, but which was failing by the time Carto acquired it. It was published until 1980.

After the failed third party presidential campaign of George Wallace in 1968, Carto acquired control of what was left of the Youth for Wallace organization, and transformed it into an openly racist youth organization called the National Youth Alliance. Carto eventually lost control of the National Youth Alliance to a rival, William Luther Pierce, who transformed it into the National Alliance, which is today an American white racist organizations.

 Carto, Revisionism and Holocaust Denial

Carto was also the founder of a publishing company called Noontide Press, which published a number of books on white racialism, including Yockey's Imperium and David Hoggan's The Myth of the Six Million, one of the first books to deny the Holocaust. Noontide Press later became closely associated with the Institute for Historical Review (IHR), and fell out of Carto's hands at the same time as the IHR did. The IHR was founded by Willis Carto in 1979, with the intent of promoting the proposition that the Nazi Holocaust never happened - a view known as Holocaust denial. After losing control of Noontide Press and the IHR in a hostile takeover by former associates, Carto started another publication, "The Barnes Review", which also focuses on Holocaust denial.

Populist Party (1984-1996)

In 1984, Willis Carto was involved in starting a new political party called the Populist Party. It quickly fell out of his hands in a hostile takeover by disgruntled former associates. Critics asserted that this Populist Party (not to be confused with the Populist Party of 1889) was little more than an electoral vehicle for current and former Ku Klux Klan and Christian Identity members. Olympic athlete Bob Richards (1984), David Duke (a founder of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan and a future Louisiana state representative, 1988) and former Green Beret Bo Gritz (1992) were the Populist Party's only three presidential candidates. It folded before it could nominate a candidate for the 1996 elections.

Other activities

Carto's Liberty Lobby acquired the Sun Radio Network in December 1989, and attempted to use talk radio as a vehicle for espousing his views. It was eventually a financial failure. Liberty Lobby and American Free Press also sponsored the Radio Free America talk show, hosted by Tom Valentine.

In 2004, Carto joined in signing the New Orleans Protocol on behalf of American Free Press. The New Orleans Protocol seeks to "mainstream our cause" by reducing violence and internecine warfare. It was written by David Duke.

PING for discussion

You know all about this.

Carto's bio in 30, he's a klucker, Jew hater, racist, Holocaust denier of longstanding.

You defend this relationship?

It amazes me people support these relationships. On another thread I had Pauls relationship with Willis Carto and David Duke compared to Norman Podhoretz and Daniel Pipes advising Rudy. Go figure. Why they all use the Rudy comparison is odd to.

It seems like this would be an easy issue to dispense with. If Mr. Paul were to disavow and dissociate from these people, there would be no issue.

Reasonable to assume he want's their support. See post 30 for bio on Carto. American Free Press advertises him as a columnint, he also appears in the Council of Conservative Citizens magazine. The GOP needs this like a hole in the head. Repudiation is as easy as this.

Duke is not a Republican. We repudiate him in his views and we are taking immediate steps to see that he is disenfranchised from our party.

There are some here who smear based on those who support someone. However, Paul is weak on national defense, especially against terrorism. The first issue I look at in a presidential candidate.

The idea of leaving someone alone and they won't bother you has been disproven several times in a big way in the last century.

"Rudy and Clinton are the “chosen” ones."

Yep, the RP wackoes like you guys are on a bi-polar tear against common sense.

Nobody has been nomimated yet. If you don't support that suicide monkey Ron Paul, then it doesn't automatically mean you support Rudy.

Here is Dr. Lormand's prescription for RonPrawnsephalitis (symptoms are prolonged periods of insanity '24/7', and a strong lack of survival skills)

1) Delete all links a references to Freerepublic and never come back.

2) I don't give a crap after #1 is accomplished.

this makes me wonder if the Ron Paul supporters were among the anti Islamo fascist awareness week protesters at UW, who called for Michael Medved’s head on a spike.

Probably some, Paul has been critical of the use of the term.

You'll note on these threads condemnations of folk like David Duke and Willis Carto, much less Alex Jones, are few and far between amongst the Paul people.

While I don't know that Medved is a Giuliani supporter, that's a fascinating charge in this context.

He's right, racists, Jewhaters, Holocaust deniers stink, they have no place anywhere near the Republican Party, Duke and the KKK have been condemned by the Party before, and it's time for Paul to do it, or the Party needs to condemn Paul and his relationships.

Should he be considered a viable Republican candidate rather than a non-Repblican fringe nut, the media and the Dems will be asking the same question. And they'll be right.
