The son of the legendary Conservative Republican presidential candidate and Arizona senator, Barry Goldwater, produced a YouTube video endorsement of Ron Paul.

Ron Paul responded “I am honored to have the endorsement of my friend, Barry Goldwater, Jr.,” said Dr. Paul. “Barry and his family have been giants in the fight to protect American values, and his support means the world to me.”

In the video Barry Goldwater Jr. who served 6 terms in Congress with Ron Paul in highlights Paul’s honesty and integrity. Goldwater also said, “Ron Paul believes in a strong national defense but not being the policeman of the world. Goldwater also said “Ron Paul believes in preserving your liberties.”

The endorsement helps cement Ron Paul’s position as the conservative in the GOP race.

“Dr. Paul is the only true conservative in this race and the only candidate worthy to carry on the Goldwater legacy,” said Paul spokesman Jesse Benton. “Republicans who care about limited government, individual rights and strong national defense, like Barry Goldwater, have only one choice in this election: Ron Paul.”

I applaud Ron Paul for his contributions to the national dialogue. The move of Republicans towards Big Government Conservativism has been a destructive one, and hopefully, he can effect change on the party as the first Barry Goldwater did.

I’m sorry, but Ron Paul’s empty rhetoric to push forward his empty agenda deserves no applause. How many bills has he introduced into congress to reduce the size of government? Where’s the floor speeches where he is critical of the size of the budget and calls for shutting down government offices? Where’s his defined plan on reducing the size and scope of government?

Yet another showboater.

Might want to check the list yourself.. Virtually none. Nothing to reduce the size of the ever growing departments, an empty resolution to give back the automatic raises, recalling the troops from Iraq, recalling the troops from Iraq... Didn’t bother to research to see what earmarks he porked out for his district - I’m sure they’re about average.

Goldwater also said, “Ron Paul believes in a strong national defense

Where is the evidence for that statement?
