The whole time Mitt Romney was talking this morning, we were thinking: "Is he presidential?" And "his hair looks askew" and "but, is he presidential?" What we heard was: "Blah blah blah" and then the money quote:
"Let me assure you that no authorities of my church, or of any other church for that matter, will ever exert influence on presidential decisions. Their authority is theirs, within the province of church affairs, and it ends where the affairs of the nation begin," Romney said.
And this:
"If I am fortunate to become your president, I will serve no one religion, no one group, no one cause, and no one interest,'' Romney said. "A president must serve only the common cause of the people of the United States.''
And then the rest was like a buzzing noise, but his mouth was moving. Is he presidential? The blog heard from a reader today saying that he and his friends -- earnest, young, establishment-type Reagan Republicans (our description, not his) are having a hard time figuring out who to support. The Mormon thing has them freaked, Giuliani is just out of the question, same for Huckabee -- so now it's down to Fred Thompson? Seriously? These are tough times to be a Republican, it seems.
“If Mitt Romney or Mike Huckabee are the nominees, the drive-by media will ake their respective religions a major issue. If it is Giuliani is the nominee, every scandal will be re-hashed, over and over again. Can we afford this?”
No way!!
Good question.
It will be a major issue to the MSM, but I wouldn’t let it stop me from supporting either of them. I could care less about any candidates religion (unless they’re a moose-limb or scientologist) or lack thereof (unless they’re militant in their atheism).
There are far more substantiative reasons to dislike Mitt and the Dope from Hope.
Personally, I am glad to see the Pubs have a strong field of contenders. The poor Rats got nothing.

By the time the drive-by media is done, you'll think Mormons and Scientologists are one in the same. The media, IMO, is covering for Barack Hussein Obama's Muslim past, at least until he gets elected as either President or Vice President. Do you agree?
Yeah, I agree with that.
They're not?! Just kidd'in.
It's not Mitt's religion that is his major problem. Its his lack of consistent conservatism over his life time, that will sink his candidacy in the end.
