History Says Pick Clinton, Thompson
U.S. News & World Report ^ | December 06, 2007 | Paul Bedard

If history matters to you, then voters should pick Democratic Sen. Hillary Clinton and Republican Fred Thompson as their parties' presidential nominees. That's because they are the choice of America's social studies teachers. In a miniconvention sponsored by Pearson, the education and media giant, Clinton, the former first lady viewed as the most experienced in the field, was first with 41.9 percent, followed by Sen. Barack Obama with 34 percent and John Edwards at 12.3 percent. On the GOP side, Thompson, the actor and former Watergate prober, won 23.2 percent, followed by Rudy Giuliani at 20.5 percent and surging Mike Huckabee very close at 18.9 percent.

How in the world is Hillary Clinton "viewed as the most experienced in the field"? What?! Do voters really buy that "co-president" crap? Is Laura Bush co-president now?

The first thing I do when selecting a candidate to support is to contact a social studies teacher.

When compared to John Edwards and Barak Obama, Miss Hillary is the most experience in the field.

That just shows what a sorry field the democrats have.

I just read that someplace. I don’t get the Clinton is experienced thing either. How many Dem candidates have more experience than she does? These are teachers, for crying out loud. Are they really that stupid?

Of course, there’s nothing in the article to suggest that social studies teachers accurately pick the next nominee, so I’m looking forward to hearing who art teachers say to pick for my next senator.

I don't think that the socials studies teachers implied that Mrs. Clinton is the most experienced, rather it was Mr. Bedard.

Biden “the bison” has more experience that that cow. Who cares?

If she was “co-president” than she has already served two terms, and therefore she cannot run for President again. Good deal.

I’m going to vote for John Edwards in the Democrat(ic) Primary in Feb.

Then for Thompson on the Republican side.

We can’t do that in NY. You can only vote in the primary for your party. I lived in Georgia for a couple of years and they do it your way (not sure where you are). I had a hard time getting used to it - the voting for the weakest link in the other party thing. Seemed dishonest to me, but maybe someday someone can point out the whys and advantages to me.

How in the world is Hillary Clinton "viewed as the most experienced in the field"?

She's viewed that way by Democrat social studies teachers.
