Pajamas Media calls Iowa race between Romney and Thompson
Red State ^ | December 16, 2007

That's right Huckbots, while Brian Pickrell does not rule out a Huckabee win, he claims that the race is really between Fred and Mitt. As a supporter of Mr. Thompson, I'll live with Mitt as well.

According to Pickrell...

I find it hard to believe that Huckabee is actually leading in the polls here in Iowa. Every person I spoke with told me that they’re supporting Romney or Thompson and that everyone they knew or worked with (who are also Republicans) feels the same way. None of them have even considered Huckabee as a serious choice. It could be a fluke in the polling process or it could be a fluke in that I know people who are politically aligned with me and they, in turn, know and talk to others who think the way they do. Or it could be a little of both. I don’t really know for sure.

I've been saying this all along. After much phone calling to Iowa, I've yet to talk to anyone who cites Huckabee as their #1 Rudy and John fans should not be offended, we know they have ruled out that state, just like it comes of no offense to me when I see Fred has no shot in NH.

Pickrell goes on to say...

As I mentioned earlier, the people I have spoken with are supporting either Romney or Thompson, and everyone they know is doing the same thing. They have seen little support for Huckabee. Either it’s a flaw in the polls or a fluke in that like-minded conservatives tend to talk about these things with each other (“birds of a feather”, you know).

Insert Huckabee screaming in a Deanesque fashion here... Yaaaaaaaah!

That's 'cause Huckabee IS a Democrat. Just has a (R) behind his name.

Actually polls aren’t worth a spit in Iowa, in the primary caucuses, the last prediction I saw say as few as fifty thousand may turn out.

Don't have cable, so I didn't see that. Is Pat looking for a job? Huckabee may be conservative in his "Christianity", but he's Liberal on other issues...the one's that count. Not voting for Huckacrat if I can help it.

Pat Buchanan has finally become what he once described in Vice President Spiro Agnew’s “Des Moines” speech: A nattering nabob of negativism!

He’s hardly slumbering. The “Fred’s Dead/Tired/Lazy/Old/No-Fire-In-His-Belly” is getting about as old and tiring as the “War for Oil” and “Bush’s Fault” bullsh*t the Dems have been spouting off for the last 6 years.

I could easily support Fred, but ever time I hear him speak my eyelids get heavy. I’ve been very disappointed with him. Initially Bob Novak’s early review of Fred really steamed me, remember that one? But you know, he was right. I hope his numbers REALLY pick up. I doubt it though. How would his laid back, summer hammock style campaigning go in general election?

You really do need new material, the "lazy" "slumber" jabs are genuinely pathetic at this stage of the game......for your own good stop embarrasing yourself.

So you think Fred is pacing himself? Explain his strategy.
I expected much more from him.

One of my friends from Iowa the other day told me he was going to vote for Huckabee just for the fact that he was ahead in the polls.

My mom also likes Huckabee, but after I told her a few things about his record, I think she started to change her mind. She doesn’t live in Iowa though, she lives in Illinois.

I’m sure his one goal is to impress YOU.

Some of us are impressed by knowledge and conservative principles.

I don’t want a nanny or cheerleader for President.
