DES MOINES Former Sen. Fred Thompson (R-Tenn.) is making a big push with supporters to raise funds to go on the air with one more ad here before the Jan. 3 caucuses.
In an email from supporters with a subject line $109,789 and counting, campaign manager Bill Lacy makes a plea with supporters to continue contributing online to get to the campaigns target goal of $248,846.
The email contains a link to the already-filmed ad that the campaign is set to run if it meets its fundraising goal.
If we can make a big enough buy, we have a chance to really score a surprise in the caucuses next week! Lacy writes.
Thompson has been barnstorming the state by bus, and he is receiving strong reviews for his performance on the stump. Thompson is depending on earned media from his events to make up for his absence on the air.

I already have. For the first time in my mortal existence, I actually made a political contribution. To Our Man. And I am a political Ebenezer Scrooge.

You know if everybody on this forum gave $5 or $10 bucks it could make a difference in the polls.

Fred was just on Hannity and Colmes. I tuned in late so didn’t see the whole interview but what I saw was very good. Catch the rerun if you can.

"9.3%, people, 9.3%." It's the ARG poll that throws everything off. They are NOT known for accurate polls and lean left. But believe whatever you wish. Maybe they are accurate and McCain will garner 3rd place. I lived in Iowa from 1974 to 2002, and I don't believe it for a minute!

I'll join that theme. I've never given a dime. I've only done things like yard signs in the past. Fred is the first to get any donations from me. I've given him $25 on at least five separate occasions including a donation for the latest ad drive. I have four kids and every dollar is precious...but so is the future of this nation that my kids will inherit. I gave $25 yesterday and I'm about to go give another $25 today. I hope others feel the same way.

I can’t believe he didn’t get that much money in the 1st day. Ron Paul pulls in millions when he bumps for it. I understand he’s a special case, but I really thought that when a specific request like this was made, he’d get a million bucks no problem in a day or two.

Ron Paul pulls in millions when he bumps for it.And all your guy has to do is write himself a loan. But neither Mitt nor Fred has the backing of George Soros like RuPaul and the Dope from Hope, so I guess that's a moot point, now ain't it.

Before the Thompson campaign, I had only donated time and that was for Ronnie back in ‘80 ‘cause I wasn’t going to get to vote by one month. This is all new to me but I feel like we are really breaking new ground all the way here. All the old rules and assumptions are out the window. I may be wrong, but time will tell.

We are halfway there! Please, everyone! Let's get those ads all over Iowa: if Fred makes a good showing there, the MSM will not be able to ignore him any more!
Fred's doing this under a near media blackout on him. Who runs this country? US (and Rush) or the traditional media??? Help fill up the little red pickup truck before 6 pm Friday! Please.

Sorry, I didn’t see your ping! My computer is running so slow it’s taking 5 minutes or longer to post a simple reply. The last time it ran like this it crashed and was down for 3 days. I’m gonna take a chance on rebooting. If I’m not back in 20 minutes, send out the search dogs. :)
