Fred Thompson has raised over $200,000 online since his boffo debate performance last night, says spokesman Todd Harris.
For a candidate who is putting everything on South Carolina, the showing could not have come in a better place (Myrtle Beach) or on a better network (Fox) or at a more critical time (just over a week before the South Carolina primary).
The debate got front-page previews in both the Charleston and Myrtle Beach papers yesterday, and many conservatives were already likely tuning in to their favorite station. The South Carolina papers had similarly prominent coverage of the debate this morning.
Cash infusion in hand, Thompson went back on TV today in the Palmetto State. He's got "Substance" back up.
Fred's "Red Pickup" fundraiser is up to $783,565 right now. If anyone feels like helping Fred, my fundraising code number is 52006 (no pressure, of course!)
The truck is up ~$250 K since the beginning of the debate last night. That is 2.5 times as fast as it was coming at the beginning of the fundraiser.

You know...FRED is a very good name. My father’s name is FRED, my brother’s name is FRED, and my husband’s best man was FRED. You know something else, I never watched one episode of Law & Order. However, I did watch the Senate hearings in which FRED was the Chairman.

We are watching history and have become a part of it from our living rooms. I live in rural Kansas. It is the most exciting election I have ever been a part of. My husband I came to tears when we heard FRED on Thursday night. We watched it again the next evening and cried again. FRED is doing this for WE THE PEOPLE. We asked him to run and he stepped up one more time for his Country.

Same here, except I am the ripe old age of 67.:) I have given of my time to volunteer for candidates, but this time it is money and time for Fred! Doing calls from my home this weekend which is another way folks can help Fred. If one is a Fred supporter in South Carolina or Florida, calling folks in support of Fred is going on now. Hopefully other supporters in Florida will join me in calling for Fred. GO FRED!
Us too! I once put some pocket cash in a fishbowl at our local Republican HQ, but never had I given to a candidate. I just feel so strongly that FDT is the man we NEED in office at this point in time.
Fred is the BEST MAN.
He needs to be VERY aggressive to get more money, votes and ultimately the nomination.

Folks, SC is so important to this campaign. I have to tell you that 8 of us Georgians drove to SC yesterday and stumped for Fred. We covered around 300 houses, door-to-door and then made phone calls after we finished the walking. I’m here to tell you that I was totally stoked to see how just 8 people could make a difference in some of the undecided voters and for those who had chosen another candidate. If you don’t think that making phone calls, visiting your neighbors, talking about Fred to strangers makes a difference, you are sadly misinformed. I encourage us all to make calls, get out and walk your own neighborhood and talk to folks. You don’t have to be overbearing or rude, just get his name out. You have all the information you need right here at your fingertips. You might even make a few new friends. Yes, I’m sore from walking and tired from driving 275 miles to Greenville, SC., but I KNOW it was worth every minute of our efforts.
