First, I want to thank each and every one of you for the fantastic job of calling you’ve been doing to South Carolina all week. It has been a long, hard week and I know you have really sacrificed for this campaign. I truly appreciate all you’ve done and I know Fred and Jeri appreciate it also. BECAUSE OF YOU, Greenville County (which is what you were calling) turned out the best vote for Fred than anywhere else across the state. Thank you!
Saturday’s results were disappointing but we attribute much of what happened to the negative push polls, one after another, that Governor Huckabee was running and other sleazy tactics. Unfortunately, when Fred Thompson is standing tall on conservative principles wanting what is best for the country, others in this race are, instead of standing tall on principles or records, having to resort to spreading lies and cheating. What has been personally disappointing to me has been to see a man, Governor Huckabee, who is a pastor and claims to be a man of God being the one Republican in this race that has resorted to the dirtiest tricks of all of the candidates.
In any case, the purpose for my communication is this: We are doing a very quick email campaign by Fred’s supporters to urge him to stay in the race. I am asking you, if you feel led to do so, to write an email to Fred (he WILL see this) to tell him why you want him to stay in. If you know anybody else who supports Fred and can also do this REALLY QUICKLY (I mean within about 3 hours from now), have them do it. Have them send it to me and I’ll pass them along. Please include name, town, email address, and phone number.

I emailed earlier when this was posted on another thread. Hope many other FredHeads did the same. Found out that our local campaign coordinator here in Florida had not heard anything about Fred being out of the degate or even about him making an announcement tomorrow. But then she has not been well today so was catching up on news when I emailed her. I will wait with everyone else to hear what Fred has to say tomorrow. I do hope he is just skipping the debate but staying in the race!
It'll take more than a strongly-worded letter to get him elected, though. That is unless...

Please stay in the race, my friend. There is still more support to be siphoned from Huckabee and Romney, my friend. As long as the social conservative vote is split, I have a real chance to win when I otherwise would have none, my friend. I would very much like to get rid of Bush's tax cuts and eliminate the inhumane torture called waterboarding, my friend. I can only do so much with my Democrat friends in the senate, my friend. I need to move into the White House come January, my friend. I hear the President gets an extra-large text teleprompter, which would make my job a lot easier, my friend. So again, Fred... please stay in the race. There is much to do, my friend. I might not live long enough to do it all, but I would very much like to try, my friend. There might just be a cabinet position in it for you.

Please remain in the race. We need a Conservative voice. There are signs that Governor Huckabee’s campaign is broke and may fail soon. I believe that you can finally get the supporters you need from there. There are signs that this will be a contested convention. If, as I believe, your strength continues to grow between now and then, you would be the logical choice for our candidate. I know this is hard on you, especially with your mother in the hospital. I feel selfish for asking that you continue to serve. You did not get in this for yourself, but for your children, your country, and for us. Please hang in there for us. I’ve shaken your hand and looked you in the eyes. You never have disappointed me since that day when we met while you were campaigning for the Senate. Though we disagreed at times, I knew your reasoning was sound if I just waited to hear it. Thank you for your past service. I believe that God has raised you up for just this time. I know you can win this for us.

Someone called you “Southern Fried Reagan”…and I think that’s apros pos. As Reagan once did in the 80’s, you do today…you embody the principles of Conservatism at a time we need it most.
You alone “get it” on all of the major issues this country faces.
Cede now and we’ll be forced to “settle” for less than what we need…which is a true conservative with the grit, fortitude, wisdom and personality to lead this country.
Is the road ahead tough? It sure is. But you’re not in this alone. We believe in you. We see you for who you truly are…the one person in this race who knows what’s at stake and who’s in this race for the right reason.

They the media, your opponents the Democrats, all want to define you...define your run and dictate who the frontrunners are. I for one am sick to death of their arrogance and I hope you are too. I hope you see what we see in you...the leader that the conservative movement needs. The Tall Man who doesn’t back down from a challenge.

Dear Senator Thompson,
Jim and I are native Tennesseans. We think your honest and direct approach is just what this country needs.
We know you and Jeri have put yourselves out there only to be lied about and ignored in large part by Major Media.
The sacrifices you have made so far are many. Some are incomprehensible to those of us not in politics. It seems that if you do drop out (and we could not blame you), the mainstream media and the dirty campaigners will have won.
