David Brooks, writing in the NYT under the title Obama Admires Bush reports on his interview with Obama.
Boy, is that ever tough talk. Obama acts like he invented the word "diplomacy" as if diplomacy hasn't been attempting to achieve results from the beginning.
If Obama believes all this, hes not just a Jimmy Carter-style liberal. Hes off in Noam Chomskyland.
That didnt strike me as right, so I spoke with Obama Tuesday to ask him what he meant by all this.
Right off the bat he reaffirmed that Hezbollah is not a legitimate political party. Instead, Its a destabilizing organization by any common-sense standard. This wouldnt happen without the support of Iran and Syria.

“Is Obama naïve enough to think that an extremist ideological organization like Hezbollah can be mollified with a less corrupt patronage system..”
I don’t think Obama believes a word he says. He’s just trying to form phrases that he thinks will get him elected. If he does get elected, the crashing sound you will hear will be the dashed hopes of his voters.
Putting Obama in the White House would be like dropping a bunny rabbit in a pit full of pythons. The guy, like all libs, is clueless. “But we’ll just talk to them. Then they’ll understand us and like us.” Tyrants from Hitler to Stalin have laughed behind their backs at the naive fools who thought they could negotiate with them. The current fascists running Iran are no different.
