If Obama Goes Down, This Time Liberalism Goes Down With Him
The Patriot Room ^ | June 23, 2008 | Bill Dupray

Quinnipiac analyst: "It’s clear that if Sen. Obama loses this November, Democrats will have to conclude that yes, in fact, their defeats are linked to their brand of politics, not their salesman’s communication skills." Of course, that's not true. If Barry loses, it's because of racism.

No Liberalism is not going down, McCain will do his best to keep it afloat.

And if not McCain there are plenty of others in the GOP leadership that will keep it going.

The liberals/socialists have a party & it is called the Democrat Party. The Democrat Party can no more change its governing philosophy than a leopard can change its spots.

Well, Obama is a good spokesman and has good political skills. If he goes down, it won’t be because he couldn’t run the campaign well or had communication problems. He’s just out of the mainstream of America, though not out of the mainstream of the Moveon.Org type Democrats.

If he goes down to a big defeat, the Dems. will do lotsa navel gazing about what went wrong. Then look for Hillary Clinton in 2012.

Am I the only one who doesn’t agree with this “he’s a brilliant speaker” point? I find his speaking style horrible, his tone arrogant, his message scary and his presence creepy.

With Obama it’s all or nothing. If he wins he will be a very powerful president as long as he doesn’t screw up like Carter did. On the other hand, if he loses be will be burnished to the US Senate for the remainder of his political career forever labeled a loser, someone not to be trusted and someone who ran too fast too soon. Hillary on the other hand showed she was a fighter and does indeed have a chance at a comeback should the messih falter.

“”It’s clear that if Sen. Obama loses this November, Democrats will have to conclude that yes, in fact, their defeats are linked to their brand of politics, not their salesman’s communication skills.””

Which is one reason I really, really hope he loses; it’ll signal that America is essentially a conservative country to the Democrats.

Liberals and Leftists never give up on The Cause. They can never be totally eliminated; only marginalized.

“Of course, that’s not true. If Barry loses, it’s because of racism.”

That dog won’t hunt, though. That’d be saying that America is liberal, but racist. But a really liberal country wouldn’t reject a candidate based on race.

If the Dem’s use race as an excuse, but try to maintain that America is liberal at heart, that kind of blows up their own argument right in their face.

Bull crap. That is a fantasy....the same kind of fantasy that said liberalism was dead after the 1994 elections.

We must continually stand and fight against libs...even ones in our own party.

No, they won’t be stumped for a reason as to his loss. They’re as predictable as they are elitist. After his speech on race, they said he was too good for us, that we didn’t deserve someone so good, so right for the country, so progressive, a statesman. If he loses, they’ll chalk it up to our ignorance, or perhaps stupidity if the difference between ignorance and stupidity be that only one is curable.

No, you’re not the only one. I don’t like that ‘il Duce’ chin thrust, the drawn out single-syllable words (thaaaaaat, aaaaaaaaand, etc.), the self-satisfaction that he doesn’t even try to conceal.

No, you aren't.

To bowdlerize P.J. O'Rourke's memorable phrase,

"it's all baked wind and monkey doodle..."

What really creeps me ( and my wife ) out is his followers- I never guessed we had so many gullible fools of voting age. No wonder we got stuck with Little Big Fraud for eight miserable years.

Clinton beat old man Dole. It’s very possible that Obama beats old man McCain. McCain is not inspiring anyone, he’s a dud.

The only way McLame wins is to properly paoint Obama as a radical liberal who hangs around with kooks like his pastor et al

in every election that I can remember, whenever the left loses,

it’s because the voters are “too dumb to vote for what’s good for them.”

If Obama is defeated Big Media will absolutely blame it on racism. You can count on it. The fact that “journalists” completely omit Obama’s radical record proves they think he’s mainstream. “Of course this is a mean, nasty, racist country” they say to themselves. “Why wouldn’t the average American vote for Obama except on account of the color of skin?” I’m sure most lib scribblers are convinced that Obama is simply echoing the voices of the average American. The fact that’s he’s a leftist radical is something they can’t see. So if people don’t vote him, they must be racists. Absolutely no other reason. (snort)

Hey, I'm with you. I went to see him speak last December in Ames Iowa. The guy was 1) Two hours late. 2) Did not apologize. 3) Talked for about 2 hours only getting the occasional sound bite in.
“Boring Barry” is an appropriate nickname for the guy. He appears to have gone to the Bill Clinton school of speechifying. Long-winded, boring, and unenlightened.
Yes, he did become animated when asking for independents and uncommitted republicans to support him, but that's about the only interesting thing he did.
He did not offer anything but “change you can count on.” Well, I have change in my pocket, and I do count on that. I don't expect to have any left if this joker gets elected.
