Barack Obama Will Not Win Louisiana

Despite the hoopla of the Democratic National Convention and the great publicity for Democratic nominee Barack Obama this week, he has not received much of a boost in the public opinion polls. In fact, his poll numbers have declined slightly. The pick of U.S. Senator Joseph Biden has been a big failure and has not helped the ticket at all. According to the National Journal, Barack Obama is the most liberal member of the U.S. Senate, while Biden is the third most liberal member. Since this ticket is so liberal and the American people are starting to focus on the election and the issues, Obama and Biden will have trouble winning this fall. America is a basically conservative nation and this ticket is not at all conservative.

One thing is certain; Louisiana is a conservative state and the Democratic ticket will not be competitive in Louisiana. While across the nation, Barack Obama and John McCain are locked in a dead heat, in Louisiana, McCain has a huge lead over his Democratic rival. A new Rasmussen survey gives McCain a 57-39 percent lead over Obama in the Pelican State. Most political analysts now believe that Obama will basically concede the state to McCain. The state has only nine electoral votes, so it will not be a big prize on Election Day.

The two major presidential candidates will likely spend the vast majority of their time in the crucial battleground states. In the past Louisiana has been a bellwether state in the presidential race, often voting for the winning candidate. In 1992 and 1996, Bill Clinton carried the state; however, in 2000 and 2004, George W. Bush won Louisiana.

There seems to be little doubt that no matter who John McCain picks as his running mate, he will easily win the state this fall.

Well, I listened to the Obamanator's speech and I have this to say . . . he made a couple of GREAT sound bytes that McCain can use . . . I wish I had a written transcript in front of me, but one was about lack of experience which O' claimed McCain didn't have.

He made a LOT of promises and denied that Trickle Down Economics works . . . duh on that one . . . but he never said who was going to pay for the "changes" or how much they were going to cost, but he DID use language similar to Michelle's "it's gonna cost you" speech. You recall the one, where we're going to 'even the playing field' aka create a democratic-socialist Country.

And using scripture and the God Bless America and I'm proud of America etc, at the end.

It was a pretty good performance but still I'd say a B- overall. Too gaudy. But he did not arise out of the floor, the podium sank into the floor after his speech.

Oh, he challenged McCain to debate. THIS should be good. Stay tuned and grab some popcorn next time you're at the store.

I think Obama is in trouble.

You can’t go by polls, and you can’t go by the media. What I go by is Google trends. It shows the searches that people are making any given hour of the day. Do you know what the number one search on the internet is of this minute?

Charles Babbington. He’s an AP writer that just wrote a critical piece on Obama’s speech.

I have often been amazed, on reading the trends, on what people are looking up any given moment. It’s given me a little more faith in america. yes, there is lots of fluff, but there are lots of important topics that do not escape people.

For instance, the day Rush had a war hero on, that name was number one for quite a while.

Analysis: Obama spares details, keeps up attacks

DENVER — Barack Obama, whose campaign theme is “change we can believe in,” promised Thursday to “spell out exactly what that change would mean.”

But instead of dwelling on specifics, he laced the crowning speech of his long campaign with the type of rhetorical flourishes that Republicans mock and the attacks on John McCain that Democrats cheer. The country saw a candidate confident in his existing campaign formula: tie McCain tightly to President Bush, and remind voters why they are unhappy with the incumbent.
