Democrats are realizing that winning the Hispanic vote is more critical than ever if they hope to carry Nevada in November.
And so as Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin rallied supporters in Carson City on Saturday, Democrats were redoubling their outreach efforts to Latinos. To point: New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson gathered with local Hispanic leaders for a discussion on the economy at the College of Southern Nevada before setting off to canvass, attend a Telemundo soccer tournament and deliver remarks at the Clark County Democratic Party’s Jefferson-Jackson dinner.
The visit was one in a series of recent actions by the campaign underscoring the importance of the Hispanic vote here and throughout the Intermountain West.
“John Kerry lost Ohio,” Richardson said in an interview. “If he had won Nevada, New Mexico and Colorado, he would be president today. I think the key to the election are these three Western states — and the margin of victory is in the Hispanic vote.”
that’s because richardson is supposedly half hispanic
and is a wannabe hispanic.
Blacks and latinos don’t like each other.
Nope - won’t happen.
Karl Rove and Bush and McCain said pandering to the illegal Hispanic crowd would win them over to the Republican banner.
NOT!
A good portion of the Hispanic voters do no like blacks.
My brother in Houston Texas speaks fluent Spanish and works a lot in south Texas. He tells me that down in the Valley, and over around Corpus where the population is overwhelmingly Latino...that they hate Obama.
If the hispanic vote is so critical then why is the VP nominee a white congressman from Delaware and not a hispanic governor from New Mexico.....?
Hispanic voters know one thing for sure, both parties are promising them amnesty.

I beg to differ. I am hispanic, and conservative. I also believe that more effort must be made on the hispanic community to show them that our conservative values are their values.
The vast majority are good Catholics, that have been lied to by liberal “hispanics”. We have to keep working towards awakening the sleeping hispanic conservative giant.
And on top of that is the language barrier, which helps the democrats. They get their ‘news’ from the Spanish language stations...all one sided.....and none of which even carried Palin’s speech. So all they get is Obama for the most part.
Hispanics will overwhelmingly vote for corrupt socialist candidates, so the Democrats have no worries in that regard (and the GOP has nothing to gain by pandering). The trick is getting them to go to the polls, as their level of civic participation tends to be very low.

We should not underestimate Bill Richardson. After all, when the Northern Alliance under Masood had the Taliban on the run the first time, during the Clinton administration, Slick Bill sent Half Hispanic Bill over and he bailed out the Taliban. He is a good democrat who knows how to help the enemy and try and make us lose wars for America. So many of the ordinary hispanics in these country actually try to win them and so many serve in our armed forces, it will take all Bill R’s skill to turn them against the country they think of as their own.
Same is true in S. Florida among the Cuban community — they hate Obama.
Richardson is blowing smoke.
What an overreaching insulting thing to say. If they are ignorant, it is because they, like the rest of the younger generation are being indoctrinated by left-wing schools and pandering politicians. NM has had a proud history of educated politicians from both parties (carpetbagger Richardson not included) and lost many good men fighting in WW-II and later wars in defense of this country.
There are significant numbers of hispanic conservatives out there like yourself, but they need to speak up more. Their voices will be heard.
