Steele is always who has been. He is not a victim. Unfortunately, tokenism is more important than competence when it comes to running the RNC, witness Mel Martinez.

This is the man I would like to see as RNC Chair. He resigned as RNC chairman several years ago to head up Bush's re-election. After the election, he said he was resigning from public life to earn money for his family. Let's throw some money at him and get him to retake the post of RNC Chair. He is incredibly bright and articulate and has the instincts of a rattlesnake when it comes to dealing with liberals.

Michael Steele—the latest poster child for the disaster that is Affirmative Action.

He’s a RINO. Kick his ass out of the leadership and, preferably, out of the Party. Tell him to take Specter, Snowe, Collins, Lugar, et al with him.

In every winning year for Republican candidates for President conservatives have been the difference makers. Our challenge now is to mount a strong and supremely funded primary challenge against every RINO. We can do this people!

Proposed new by-law for the GOP: if you’re an office holder who denounces Rush, Savage, Hedgecock, Hannity, Medved, et al, you forfeit party backing and face a well-funded primary opponent.

Purge the RINOs. They are the spineless abettors of treason and traitors.

Steele’s part of the problem, and ergo, NOT part of the solution.

That’s really all we need to know.

I just discovered the existence of the National Republican Trust PAC on another thread (which I can't find now). What do people here think of them? If funded and supported, could they be an end run around the R(ino)NC?

Check out their website. They seem to have been formed during the run-up to the 2008 election and recently fought against the Porkulus Bill and promised to fight against the re-election of any pubs who voted for it.
