Unbelievable.
On Thursday, 25 House Republicans joined Democrats in passing HB255. The vote was 86 to 30, with one Democrat voting Present. HB255 is a three-pronged attack on the Republican Party Platform.
First, it massively expands gambling in the state by legalizing video poker. It also allows lottery wagering over the Internet. Second, it raises the fee for a drivers license. And third, it imposes sales taxes for the first time on previously exempt grocery items like candy, non-carbonated beverages, and health and beauty aids. Taxes on wine, beer and other alcohol are also increased. Here are the names of the 25 House Republicans who helped pass the Democrat bill: Mark Beaubien; Bill Black; Mike Bost; Dan Brady; Rich Brauer; Tom Cross; Jim Durkin; Roger Eddy; Renee Kosel; David Leitch; Jerry Mitchell; Donald Moffitt; Richard Myers; JoAnn Osmond; Raymond Poe; Jim Sacia; Skip Saviano; Tim Schmitz; Darlene Senger; Ron Stephens; Ed Sullivan, Jr.; Jil Tracy; Mike Tryon; Jim Watson; and Dave Winters. Tom Double Cross and his pals have been champing at the bit to massively expand gambling for years.
Recall they were behind Judy Baar Topinka for Governor in 2006 and gambling expansion was one of her big things. And just last year, most of the 25 Republicans listed above also voted for a massive casino expansion scheme that was led by Rod Blagojevich.
It took Democrat Mike Madigan and his caucus to mercifully torpedo that bill undoubtedly because Madigan had the good sense not to give Blagojevich billions more to spend.

With the gambling aspect I don’t care if I don’t have to pay for the treatment for people with gambling addiction. I say let them expand it.
RINO ALERT!!
One of those RINO’s is Ed Sullivan, of the 51st District. He voted against SB 600, in a committee, and he supports the law which allows illegal aliens to attend state universities and pay in-state tuition.
Time to “Push Back Until” at the Federal and State levels: http://pushbackuntil.com.
It is call the COMBINE, a blend of Rs and Ds that protect themselves more than they protect the Illinois electorate. We need to BUST the COMBINE first before anything can be done to make improvements.
I’m all for gambling, the only voluntary taxes.
