Sen. Amodei’s actions may foreshadow run at Reid

State Sen. Mark Amodei has during the final weeks of the legislative session made floor speeches against loosening ethics rules, railed against unequal treatment of state functions in the Legislature’s budget and, unlike a majority of his fellow Republican senators, voted against the $781 million tax increase.

Amodei’s actions have drawn attention and prompted a persistent question: What is he running for?

A possible answer: The Carson City Republican, who is prevented by term limits from seeking reelection, is considering a run in 2010 against U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

Amodei said in a recent interview that Rep. Dean Heller, R-Nev., is the logical choice to run against the state’s senior Democratic senator. “If Dean doesn’t, I’ll consider it,” Amodei said.

I can only hope!!
ANYONE (almost!) is better than the simpy, wimpy, slitherer Reid. He’s so crooked, he’ll have to be cork-screwed into his grave.

We went through a similar scenario at lunch. LoM went to a campaign kickoff for a local politician we've known (and respected) for a long time, running for a new office -- my only question was: "When will [this person] run for Governor"?

LoM responded, "From your lips to God's ears."

I agree. It would change everything.

I hope that a lot of voters are so fed up with Harry Reid they’ll vote for anyone else.

I’m hoping this guy jumps into the race. Reid is vulnerable. The fact that Sharon Angle was endorsed by the Club for Growth a couple of years ago is not a good sign of her electability. Recently, the CFG does not have a good track record for turning endorsements into victories.

Reid thinks he’s impervious to challengers. He’s smug and arrogant and deserves to be unseated.

If Presidents can only sit for two terms, then that’s all any other government official should be allowed. Two terms. That way, there would always be fresh ideas, and a better division of “power.”

If Krolicki could get exonerated, that would be good.
