Sarahcuda's on the move
Kay Brooks' website ^ | July 4, 2009 | Kay Brooks

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin made her own declaration of independence yesterday by announcing that she's resigning as governor of Alaska. It was another gutsy and smart move on her part that has confounded the experts and has many writing her political obituary. I believe it's just wishful thinking on their part and these folks have no clue what just hit them.

Since Sen. John McCain chose her to run as his vice-president she, her family, and her staff have been through the wringer as opponents have turned over every rock in hopes of taking her down. Every time she sneezed a FOIA request was filed demanding to know what kind of facial tissue she used, where it was disposed, a doctor's report on her health and who else was in the room that might become infected. Tennessee's own Rep. Mike Kernell's (D-Memphis) son David, entered into the battle by pulling the boneheaded move of hacking into Palin's email account. In this battle nothing was off limits. Absolutely, nothing. 15 ethics complaints were filed...all were eventually dismissed. The attack dogs had the deep financial pockets of various organizations and entities. The Palin's had their household income and a few friends to pay off $500,000 in lawyer fees. Politics saw a new level of dirty. Some made it their life goal to grind this family below ground.

The only thing that could be done to stop this most nasty warfare was to leave the political fishbowl that provided so much fodder for her enemies to cull through. Now that Palin's life is private she has the freedom to do a great deal. She has very effectively cut off that distracting and resource sucking nonsense. Hopefully, she'll quickly hit the speaker's circuit and bring in more than enough cash to pay off those lawyer fees. Then she can earn a tidy sum to care for the family. The best revenge, they say, is living well.

In the meantime she's making more and more friends and creating even more supporters across the nation. She'll be priming the conservative pump that will begin gushing and overfilling the pots that will steep all this TEA that's being brewed across the nation. Her enemies may have pushed her out of office but the result will be a stronger, freer and even more effective Sarahcuda.

I don't know how she put up with all that abuse. IIRC, she has already incurred over half a million dollars in legal bills from the spurious ethics complaints.

I tell you, this gal get’s it too.

Has anyone heard mention of the one during the last few days?

I think here on in, Sarah is the ONE, and the media will make sure of it.

Too funny

Even Mike Huckabee said yesterday that if he had to deal with the crap Sarah did, he would have resigned after a month in office, a MONTH, so I guess Huckabee should be accused of wanting to “abandon” his state. Sarah is probably sitting at home right now, surfing the web, and laughing her ass off at these so-called experts trying to explain what is going on in her head, especially those libtards on the evening news, probably yelling at the TV “No idiot, that isn’t why I resigned.”

Yes it was indeed Sarah’s Independence Day. The MSM and pundits just don’t get it.

I do, because I feel this is the start of real change. Stuff the hope n’ change malarkey, and even what the GOP currently is offering...who can trust them anyhow.

Fight, Sarah, fight.

She is now free, free to travel wherever she pleases, free to speak her mind about Obama and his looney tune ideas, free from all these BS ethics complaints the Dems filed against her. Check it out, every media outlet, ABC, CBS, NBC, all of their evening news, they were talking about “Palin’s political future” I thought she is insignificant, why do they give a damn what she does, why are they so concerned about what she does and what she does with her life, because now, they are MORE scared then ever, because now, she can break free from all of the anklebiters who wanted to bring her down and she can really let er rip

I believe this is a concerted effort coming from the White House to frame Palin as “Nutty” or a “quitter” and project this move as “disqualifying” for running for POTUS 2012.

Why would the state Run media and the White House feel the need to beat her into the ground? I am sure they have polling data that is why. If Sarah Palin was really the liability she is made out to be, I would think libs would be lining up to have her run in 2012.

Why did Sarah Palin quit? Because she knows she can win in 2012 and the only realistic way for her to take a free run at the White House is from outside public office. She understands that Sergeant Zero is going to raise 400-500 million for re-election thru his credit card fraud and foreign contribution schemes. She can’t just pop up in November 2011 have that level of funding.

Additionally, one of the biggest flaws in the McCain campaign was no real structure. Just a bunch of rag tag volunteers logging in on the internet calling people. I would look for Sarah to begin building a 50 state strategy where we have an actual network and presence in states like New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, and Pennsylvania. Now is the time to start making in-roads in these states and getting Republicans fired up.

The minute she declared for President while sitting as governor, there would be 50 more ethics complaints from left. And all the media coverage would circulate around these points. She had to clear the deck to give herself the chance to frame the debate.

The best revenge, they say, is living well.

I agree with this blog 100%. I think the 'Cuda is going to give the dims so much hell in so many ways, from so many directions and from so many different congressional districts they won't know whether to crap or go blind.

The snotty beltway clan both D and R have it all wrong, as per usual.

This isn’t directly relevant, but check out Sarah’s latest tweet:

“Grateful Todd left fishing grnds to join me this wkend; but now he’s back slaying salmon & working the kids @ the site; anxious to join ‘em!”

Slaying Salmon. I can’t put in words just how cool Sarah Palin is.

I can’t wait, am hoping she will come to Florida for Rubio. That would be ripe! Charlie sissy is ahead in the polling, but the attention Sarah will bring will lift Rubio’s profile greatly.
I didn’t see her last fall, it was so hot. They said there were 50,000 people at the Villages.

People need to understand that the Republican Party will NOT allow Palin to be their nominee. Surely most of you can see this now.

She can run in ‘12 for the nomination, but the Crists and the rest of the same crowd that engineered the idiotic McCain nomination will crush Palin long before she gets near the nomination.

She needs to go indie and force a threeway race in Nov 2012 in which wilting support for Obamsky and brain-dead support for whatever lightweight Pubbie clone cancels each other while leaving as much as 35 to 40 percent of the vote on the table even in some of the big blue states.

THAT’S how she can get elected. Trying for the Repub nomination will cost her every cent she raises and will be an effort that amounts to nothing.

The Republican Party is committed to being the alternative liberal party—amnesty, global warming, big govt programs, etc. It is a train wreck about to happen. It is committing suicide in slow motion before our very eyes. Palin could never be on their agenda.

Yeah! What she said!

The Palin Derangement Syndrome is spreading faster than Swine Flu. It’s at epidemic levels among Democrats and even some Republicans.

Let’s see David Letterman say something blasphemous about the Palins on television now that she’s a Private Citizen . . . and she’ll have his job AND his hide . . . stuffed and standing in the corner. (She doesn’t really need another rug right now.)

The article linked from a headline on Yahoo Mail's opening page today mentioned the ethics complaints several times, but somehow forgot to say that all (or any) had been dismissed. The left will stop at nothing to bring her down. It's frightening the power that the DBM has over the mostly ignorant American public.

The Party won't be able to control the voters who would be chomping at the bit to vote for Sarah. In the last election, conservative votes were split among several good candidates, thus allowing McCain to garner the plurality. If Sarah announces, I doubt there will be as many in the field as there were in 2008.

No, she doesn't. That will only insure that Obama gets another term.

Why re-invent the wheel when there is an infrastructure there for her use, if she becomes the candidate? And if she announces, I have no doubt that she will be.

The state run media barrage trumpeting every left field rumor and theory such as “FBI Investigation/Indictment” or simply declaring her dead in a political sense.

Obama has won every electoral campaign by simply clearing the playing field of any opponent. No doubt that would be his strategy here.

You know - I went and re-read Judges chapter 4. It was uncanny how there were true-to-life similarities to today. Deborah was a prophetess leading Israel (tell that to the feminists against God) and Barak (no joke!) was a leader but when called on to fight the bad guys by God through Deborah - he wimped out. So Deborah said 'Fine - then you don't get the kill nor credit, a woman will get it'. Which is what happened - Jael put the spike through the temple of the enemy's commander. I'll leave it at that but worth all to read but the great part was the song of Deborah after - she describes the IINOs (Israelites in Name only - my play here), the tribes that were too spineless to go fight but also describes how the people of two tribes, the grassroots effort, rose up and had the courage to fight. Very encouraging.
