I've been hearing that some groups of people are not welcome at Free Republic anymore, but I didn't believe what I was hearing because that seems like the complete opposite of "Free". I've heard that supporters of Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Ron Paul, Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, and more are no longer welcome to post at this site.
This site is about uniting people together against the liberal onslaught that is ruining our country and we could use all the help we can get right?
Please correct me so I can correct others who have told me that this is the case. A new slogan is making it's rounds that 'the Free Republic has become anything but.'

The purges where urban legends.. I was around to witness some of the so called purges and the folks who where banned pretty much asked for it, they where being real a** jumping in on the personal attacks, etc. They then scurried over to other sites and whined they where zotted for being ‘too conservative’ or a supporter of X or Y, when in reality, they where zotted for being jerks, attacking other members, or posting from banned sources. You can still fund Rudy, Paul, McCain and other supporters here.
You will be banned from here very soon. Take your filth back to whatever hole you live in.
People who post about what type of people get banned tend to get banned.
Hey, I voted for Romney in the primaries. It’s conceivable I might be voting for him someday against Obama. I’d prefer another guy, but he might be all we have at that point.

Assuming you're serious, the left has figured out they can use our freedoms to destroy freedom. It's been going on forever that posters from DU and operatives from both Kerry and 0bama came on FR, posted racist and idiotic things, then used those posts to claim that's what conservatives do. They also come on the site and try to sew discontent between differing conservative factions.
The argument you just made is a real DU type argument. Your freedom of speech doesn't include shouting me down. If a person tries to do that here, they get banned.
From what I’ve seen, you have to make quite a jerk of yourself to get banned. I should know, I was suspended for getting into an insult contest with a real ass-tard. He was even banned a couple of times since then, but he keeps coming back.

You're confusing FR with DU. Please don't do that. Disagreements are allowed here as dissent is part of the "free" you ask of - Free Speech, Free Republic. All intelligent arguments are respected (and even relished by most here). Personal attacks or blatant antagonism is only perpretated by trolls or seminar posters looking to get a rise out people so they can go back to DU and say "Hey, look what they're posting on FR!".

For someone who’s been registered here for 3 days, you seem to have heard an awful lot about what is “no longer” welcome here. Trolls are not welcome here and never have been. Neither are political operatives whose sole purpose in being here is to promote a single candidate that the site owner opposes.

Almost as bad as a ‘news’ story I heard yesterday..
Seems a day care center FOR MINORITIES & HISPANICS (as stated in relationship to the story)had given a check to a local pool so the Center’s charges could swim in the pool.
After a day of frollicking and generally making themselves a pain in EVERYONE ELSES BUTT, the check was returned and the group was asked not to come back.
WELL, they (THE DAY CARE CENTER) are suing and charging discrimination...
MY QUESTION IS:
How can an organization which is OPENLY AND BLATANTLY PRACTICING DISCRIMINATION, charge another organization with discrimination????

I have watched and over time have concluded that you are free to express whatever opinion you want here. Of course it is largely frequented by conservatives so there is no surprise, to me anyway, when those with “less conservative” points of view aren’t well received. The only people I have seen banned, in my experiences, are those who violate the terms here or who engage in personal attacks, poor language etc.
