Last year the media did not mince words in their race to announce that young voters were flocking to Obama. In fact, a google search I conducted while doing research for this entry yielded 210,000 results for the very specific search phrase "young voters flock to Obama". The link provided is to the first one on the list. It was hardly surprising after young people's ridiculous choice at the polls in 2006, when they helped usher in a new era of governmental horrors by voting in droves for Democrats thus handing them control of Congress.
Back in 2007 the new Democrat Congress passed a bill to raise the minimum wage, as promised. Businesses warned that this would make it more difficult to hire new employees, expand businesses and invest in research and development. They were politely told to "shut up" and to stop being so damned greedy. What do these stupid business owners think this is, anyway, capitalism? Sheesh! Well, now the young voters who have steadfastly supported liberals in the past two elections with the hopes of earning a higher minimum wage for flipping patties down at the Burger Barn are finding that the Burger Barn is no longer hiring. In fact, the entry level positions that young people depend upon in order to enter the workforce have all but vanished.
And so today there is a 52.2% unemployment rate among young people. And worse, without a clear economic recovery plan aimed at creating entry-level jobs, the odds of many of these young adults -- aged 16 to 24, excluding students -- getting a job and moving out of their parents' houses are long. Young workers have

That was a typographical error in some news story.
The actual number was 25.5%, not 52.2%.
Still a bad number.
Maybe we should help those young that still have jobs out by making the minimum wage $200 an hour.
Aww they don’t have to worry, ACORN, SEIU, LaRouche will hire them all.....
Tell me about it. My 23 year old daughter has been out of work ever since Obama took office. It’s all part of their plan to indoctrinate our youth. Join Ameri-Corp and be happy...

If jobs are scarce on the surface, just wait till you see what’s under the surface.... Absolutely nothing I tell you.
s’OK, Obama is the coolest prez ever. He wuz chillin’ with Ludicrous.
They can get jobs making statues to him outta Obama “collector” plates.
Reality: They got played because they don’t have enough knowledge or frame-of-reference to discern what a Chicago politician is. So they stumped for Barry to the equally-mindless voter who voted on campaign slogans, willful ignorance of the many bizarre and alarming things and mindless fervor.
And the MSM and late-night comedians continue to prop this guy up, almost every single day.
Reality is a harsh mistress, though.
Hope. Change.
Ha. They bought it. What fools.
Axelrod must be laughing all over himself.
How’s that hopey-changey thing working out, young Obama voters?
Oh, don’t be such a stingy Scrooge. Make it $1000 an hour. That way they can work for one hour a week and the businesses can hire a bunch more part timers.
I bet they are hopeing that will change!
Unemployment is measured as the percent of people out of work who are looking for work. This number includes people such as students, etc. who are not looking for work. It’s erroneous.
I know its getting bad.
We have never been wealthy, as a matter of fact, we have always lived paycheck to paycheck. I stayed home most of that time to raise our children, so it was a choice.
My kids have always been thrifty, and responsible. They have always grumbled about it under their breath as their friends parents bought them cars, paid their insurance, bought trendy clothes, cell phones, and had the best christmases. My boys have always held a job as soon as they hit 16 because momma didn’t pay for cell phones, extras, going out to the movies and to dinner with friends.
Now, my sons are hearing their friends (my boys are 16,17.5, and 22) complain that their parents are cancelling cell phones and other perks, and the kids have to start putting gas in the car themselves, pay their own insurance, and find their own pocket money. All they do is complain how bad it is. Funny, my kids never noticed a difference LOL. They now THANK me because all but my youngest had a job before the economy went south. They were raised to do good work so they kept their jobs through layoffs so far.
Imagine my sons surprise when his friends told him how LUCKY he was to have a job. He looks around, and he knows it.
lets see, part time job, 20 hours per week
times Min. Wage $7.25 = $145 per week.
times crew of 20 = $3000 per week
time 52 weeks = $156,000
20 times $1900 MANDATORY health care ‘tax’ = $38,000
add to salary = $194,000
= “One Burger and fries? That’ll be $18.00 sir”
Hows that “Change you can believe in” working now?
Oh wait, never mind just another lie - move on nothing new here.
So this is the plan for those making less than $250’000 will pay no taxes.
Ah, how is that Hope and Change working out for the young, anyway?
Gosh, this is a shock, who could have ever predicted this??obama will fix it.
That is what the morons get for voting for the rats.
Obama’s gonna lead ‘em ... everybody sing!!

Spread happiness!! Spread freedom!!
Next thing you know, there will be a jobs program for young people. They will be able to make relatively good money working for Americorps, perhaps, and their managers will be folks that will have just come over from ACORN.
Are you looking for a job?

Reading through the G.I.V.E. Act, the AmeriCorp stipend is $500/mo. Unless you are a minority. Then it is $750.
I hope all the non-minority youth who voted for this are thrilled with that differential.
It is sad that these young people were mezmerized by this scam artist and chief. They now know it’s not the economy stupid it’s your wasted vote on CHANGE that keeps you unemployed and a ward of the state.
Cost of a burger flipping robot: $150,000
