What's wrong with the GOP - take a look at gop.com

Posted on 10/25/2009 7:38:10 PM PDT by GretchenB

When is this pathetic group going to wake up. This website http://www.gop.com/ is a disgrace. And they are going to compete with a computer savvy group like moveon.org?

I know what I'm talking about here. I just completed a great site of my own. Granted gop.com is a beta version, but the retards should know you test the site off line before you 'show' it to the public.

First the artwork reminds me of communist China - the overall design sucks.

Nothing works - you have to sign up multiple times - the links don't work. Of course there is no 'contact us' since they don't give a whatever what anyone thinks. I know how they operate - someone's kid probably put this mess together and got paid a million bucks for their failure.

This is a party of old whatevers that are far out of touch with anything modern.

Kick them all out - a new party is the only way to go. Let the uneducated RINOs wallow in the mud together.

What say?

I say that in spite of GOP.com's manifest deficiencies, this...

I know what I'm talking about here. I just completed a great site of my own.

...makes you sound laughably arrogant.

No. We need to hijack the GOP like Howard Dean and the Nutroots did with the Dimrat party.

I say there are people who like to criticize because it makes them feel superior, that would be destructive criticism.

And then there is constructive criticism which is, this is bad and here is a constructive help to make things better.

Your vanity is maybe 70% destructive and 30% constructive.

Forgot to mention - of course their ‘Donate’ button works, asking for up to $5000. Of course I didn’t test it since I certainly won’t give another dime to this group.

Besides, in the early eighties I tried to assist national in saving money on multiple mailings - they said they didn’t care how much money they wasted - the idea was to get people to give a dollar because then they would be committed.

Thank you for your honesty. The Nutroots of the republican party are trying to do just that.

Its the men......Right now its Palin, Liz Cheney & Michelle Bachmann that have the “gonads” to stand up and call a Liberal what it actually is...

the men in the GOP seem to be trying to be the loyal opposition to the Stateists.......

in the meantime, they seem not to mind we all go down with the ship.....

The GOP is no longer the Grand Old Party.
It is a cesspool of RINOS like McStain.
Shoot the damn party and start over with a new one.
By the way, I LIKE IKE. Thats how old I am :)

You should try ‘constructive criticism,’ and otherwise heed your own advice and educate yourself.  For starters, learn to express yourself better, and stop being a whiner.

I did apologize several times - actually it did put some attention on the site and hopefully someone from the GOP will read this since there is no way to communicate with them other than the ‘donate’ button.

since there is no way to communicate with them other than the ‘donate’ button.

Interestingly enough, right at the bottom of the main page, and many other pages, I found this:

Republican National Committee
310 First Street
Washington, D.C. 20003
info@gop.com
p 202.863.8500 | f 202.863.8820

I have to agree, that certainly makes it extremely difficult to make any contact... let's see, physical/mail address, phone number, fax number, email address. Yup certainly very hard to figure out. Maybe a little remedial reading course would be the order of the day for you.

The links and menus seemed to be working fine for me, at least the ones I tried. What browser are you using. IE4?

The one thing that I would suggest they change is to obfuscate the 'mailto:' link with javascript or something so they don't get tons of spam from it being scraped by the spambots. But that's just me.

I just completed a great site of my own.

And I would really be very interested in the URL for your 'great site'. Ya know, just for comparison purposes. Care to share?

I am on three mailing lists. They are Fred Thompson, Michael Steele and John McCain. I will not kick them under the bus. I will disagree with their specific viewpoints and explain to them that the aisle is at least 20ft wider than the last time I communicated with them. I keep them on my list for one reason only.

Thanks for the link - that’s really terrible - Steele should be thrown out - The party needs young people who have a clue about ‘modern times’. In a world of technology most old folks, as in Congress too, have no clue how to compete in this world. (I hope that people here don’t think I’m looking for a job, as has been stated here - Lord knows, I’m far from young.)
Without technology we’ll never win anything. I signed up for moveon.org and they send me regular emails with the issues and the phone numbers to call in DC - I’m canceling someone out!
Does the GOP have anything set up - NO - just expensive stuff to raise money - they are still in the direct mail business.

they are still in the direct mail business. 100% correct. Their DM strategy needs to be converted to a comprehensive database marketing strategy like Barnes and Noble and Apple did. Instead, they're doing it like Sears.

You got it. Keep the GOP in check by knowing what they are saying. It is to our benefit to know what they are doing. A third party is untenable IMHO. Most folks have no idea what the hell we are talking about. Congress likes it that way.

I reply to them personnaly. I do not attack them. They are wanting conservatives to bend but unfortunately for them we don't swing that way. Either protect the Constitution or get out.

I do quite a bit of writing to all of my so-called reps and I mean every word I say. Its a matter of founding and everyones chance to succeed. Shutting people out is not an option. The welfare state does that.

I am not against people getting help but that whole Acorn crap exposed the fraud that is rampant. If Congress closes their eyes to that they can write me off.

I call and fax. All government programs are full of fraud - and they are going to cut half a billion in fraud from Medicare? The latest is the $8000 tax credit for new home buyers - underage kids collected that, including a 4 year old as did people who never bought houses and those who had already purchased homes - Cavuto got an exclusive on Friday that even IRS personnel were collecting the credit. One would think the DOJ could take time out from their harassment of the CIA to investigate ACORN...
