When McKenna ran for the U.S. Senate, in 2004, he said that he was conservative. While he was the IL GOP chairman, the party lost seats in the U.S. House, state senate, and state house. No republican primary voter should support him, since he was a terrible leader.

McKenna can go to blazes.

Of all the candidates the ONLY ONE to mention the 2A on their website is Adam Andrzejewski. He's PRO 2A and rightfully thinks its the CRIMINAL who should be punished not US by passing more STOO-PID laws.

So right now I'm for the Polack, who btw, is also pro-life.

At one point I thought of Schillerstrom. He's a fellow Kraut and from Naperville - kind of a neighbor. But he's an ex Prosecutor and as such a de facto Gun Grabber so scratch him off.

(Don't get yer panties in a wad about 'ethnic slurs' people, that's sarcasm.)

I’m Andrezjewski’s Northern Cook Co. coordinator. I recruited a Niles Township coordinator, and I got 20 signatures, for Adam.

>> Of all the candidates the ONLY ONE to mention the 2A on their website is Adam Andrzejewski <<

Um, Condor...

BILL BRADY
Second Amendment
Senator Brady is a consistent supporter and advocate of the Second Amendment. A member of both the NRA and Illinois State Rifle Association, he has fought efforts to weaken Second Amendment protections through gun control laws, further restrictions on ownership and attempts to outlaw specific weapons.
He supports concealed carry legislation in Illinois, allowing law-abiding citizens to carry a firearm, as citizens in 48 other states can legally do.
http://bradyforillinois.com/about/bill-brady-on-the-issues

DAN PROFT
2nd Amendment Rights
The “right of the individual citizen to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed” as enshrined in Article 1, Section 22 of the Illinois State Constitution, and the Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights in our U.S. Constitution means what it says. A Proft administration will honor its constitutional duty and defend this fundamental right of every Illinoisan.
I am a life member of the NRA.
http://www.proft2010.com/issues/contentview.asp?c=189961

You were saying?

Andrejewski's my third choice after Brady and Proft. He's solid on the issues, but his resume for the governorship is undoubtedly the weakest of all the conservatives in the field. I simply don't think running a phone book company qualifies this guy to hold the highest office in the state. I could see voting for him in the only choices on the ballot were him or a RINO combiner scumbag, but otherwise I will pick a conservative with a proven record.

Before a faction of conservatives in this state decided that anyone who has political experience is an evil "insider", we USED to field credible conservatives in the primary like Peter Fitzgerald and Al Salvi. But ever since a group of self-proclaimed conservative "leaders" decided the solution is run unknown political novices with a ton of money for the top offices in the state, we've been stuck with "winners" like John Cox, Jim Oberweis, Dave McSweeney, Steve Greenberg, and so on.

If Pat Hughes and Andrejewski go down to defeat in Feb. (and I'm going to be voting for Hughes and praying he gets his act together so we don't have Kirk in November) , I hope conservatives of the "run complete amateurs with lots of money for big offices" mindset would reconsider their policies. I'm tired of RINOs mocking us and conservatives always getting crushed in elections because the most vocal Illinois conservatives here seem to hate the idea of running credible candidates.

Proft and Adam have the best positions on the issues, by far... positions almost identical if you can get around Proft’s junkyard dog style.

Proft’s problem is his electability due to baggage that he has yet to handle in a way that convinces anyone it won’t be a loser’s baggage.

Brady is more of a compromising, centrist conservative. But from my perspective from working here in his hometown and talking to the locals is not his position on the issues, but his backbone/cajones or lack of same.

He is almost the total opposite of the junkyard dog. He is the dog who likes everybody and wants everybody to like him and will do anything to get people to like him. Put him in a dog fight with Mike Madigan and he is puppy chow.

Adam and Proft, in addition to being right on the issues, have backbone, inner compass. They won’t be Madigan’s friendly puppy.

Chicagolady tells me Brady voted for in state tuition for illegals. I don’t like that.

But I’m still not crazy about Andrzejewski who has no experience. I don’t see him out-dueling Quinn or Hynes.

My vote may depend on the polls. If one of the acceptable candidates is running second to the combiner scum McKenna or Dillard....

Of course that thinking led me to vote for the milkman to try and stop Tostinka. I wish I had voted for Brady that year.

What you have to remember about Adam is he DOES have experience! He is a SELF MADE MILLIONAIRE!

That sure shows he knows how to run a business, Illinois is a BUSINESS!

And Chicagolady's the one who constantly attacked Bill Brady as a "Ross Perot" type.

As someone who actually remembers the talking points used by Perot and his supporters, they sound eerily similar to reasons why John Cox/Jim Oberweis/Adam Andrejewski is the "best" candidate.

Business experience is always a plus, but it’s not the be-all and end-all, either. Springfield is a cesspool, and from my outsider’s perspective, it appears Adam A. may be WAY too green. The last non-Combiner Governor, Chicago Democrat Dan Walker, was eaten alive when he went to Springfield, and Daley, Sr. and his cronies did to him what LaThug and Co. did to Sen. Peter Fitzgerald.

But who am I endorsing here ? I really am stumped. I don’t know. I have a similar problem in TN where none of the candidates for Governor are particularly inspiring, but most are mediocre or just plain phony. We have our own RINO establishment problem in TN, and they’re trying to coalesce behind the Knoxville Mayor, a gun-grabbing rich country-clubber.

You're right on Brady and the 2A. I missed that.
But his website is silent on ILLEGALS. And that isn't a good sign.
And I don't, and I mean DON'T, like his idea of 'sharing the wealth' to fund schools.

We moved were we moved, and pay what we pay in Real Estate Taxes so our children would have a good education, and they did. His idea of school funding is exactly the same of Daley's and Jesse Jackass -- take from everybody and share the wealth. Well Chicago and any 'poorer' suburb can go pound sand.

On Dan Proft, To be honest I didn't look. I don't consider him a candidate.

So I don't care what he says about the 2A. He could be President of the NRA, own a dozen Gun Shops, give bullets away on Halloween, Shotguns at Christmas and I still wouldn't vote for him.

He's PRO-ILLEGAL so that ends that.
(I doubt the Illegal vote from Cicero and Little Village in Chi will get him the primary.)

So I'm going with the Polish guy, Adam Andrzejewski. He's a self made millionaire and knows how to run a business, i.e.: Be an Executive and make decisions. And that's what a Governor does.

And 'we' all know you're pro Brady and have been 'forever', and good for you.
But any further discussion on him would be a waste of time. Brady is what he is.

Have a good day.

>> And 'we' all know you're pro Brady and have been 'forever', and good for you. But any further discussion on him would be a waste of time. Brady is what he is. <<

Untrue. I was a Brady guy in 2006 but Brady doesn't automatically get my vote in 2010. I briefly considered supporting Matt Murphy until he went over to the dark side and supported Kirk & McKenna. I could still vote for Proft if I could be convinced the Cicero thing won't kill his chances in a general election. I certainly don't blindly following Brady around and support him the way many Oberweis worshippers do (Chicagolady would vote for Oberwis if his opponent was Ronald Reagan himself. Note she bashed Chris Lauzen when he was Obie's opponent in 2006, even though Lauzen's conservative credentials including his record on opposing illegal aliens is impeccable).

The fact half of Andrejewski's support seems to come from "Brady-was-a-Topinka plant" kool-aid drinkers who are STILL bitter about 2006 and can't get over the fact Oberweis will never be elected dog catcher is not my problem. It is, however, amusing to see the Oberweis crowd claim Brady is damaged goods and shouldn't run because he lost one election, but kept on demanding we support Oberweis after he lost four and five elections in a row. Talk about double standards and blind loyalty.

What I find refreshing about Impy is he realizes in hindsight that Brady was a better choice than Obie in 2006. Many of us will realize after an election that the candidate we thought would be a great choice turned out to be a poor performer. I thought Keyes would run a decent race in 2004 (didn't think he'd win because he was an 11th hour out of state replacement, but I though he'd make us proud) but instead Keyes ran the general election like he was trying to win a primary. In hindsight I wish Keyes hadn't been the nominee in 2004 because the RINOs love to bring him up as "proof" that "conservatives can't win"

I would have thought the other Obie fans would have given up on "it's all Brady's fault Obie lost" talking point after Obie managed to lose a safe congressional seat, but the cult of Oberweis just seems to ignore the realities of election after election. Arnold was an enormously successful "self made millionaire businessman" too. So how's that working out for California and their "outsider" Governor?

Field and Impy certainly have a point that none of the seven Republicans currently running are top tier choices. Brady's overall record is good, but not perfect. I simply pointed out that Adam has the weakest credentials for the job. Sure he did great in the private sector but bottom line is I do not think running a phone book company prepares you to govern a state. Going by the logic of some Illinois conservatives, the ideal choice would be to run Bill Gates for President over "evil insider" Sarah Palin.

Go ahead and vote for Adam if you think he's the best choice, but I'm just saying that you keep running complete amateurs for top offices in this state they'll keep losing. After six years of "wealth outsiders", I'd prefer more Fitzgerald and Lauzen type "insiders" who have a proven record. But if you think a total unknown can win, go for it. Don't say you weren't warned.

I like that sentiment and understand the 'outsider' appeal but I don't think running your own company is remotely like running a huge state government. Adam didn't have to deal with a legislature filled with rat and RINO scum trying to undermine him and destroy his company while he was running it. His employees aren't civil service members of a corrupt state employee union that is an arm of the democrat party. He may be the best conservative in the race (but remember since he has no record in office you'd have to take that on faith) but every other candidate has a much better idea how state government works.

Businessmen have a less than stellar record in jumping into politics and winning Senatorial or Gubernatorial elections. Whether this is because they run poorer campaigns or the voters take them less seriously or both I don't know. I wish Adam had chosen to wet his whistle with a lower office first. Like SOS were I think I heard the GOP candidate is crap. Adam would've make a nice contrast with the senile incompetent Jesse White.

Now I knew there were allegations of pro-illegalism against Proft from something he did in Cicero but didn't hear before that Brady had voted for in-state tuition. Do you have a take on this Billy?

Dan Proft is not pro-illegal because of anything in Cicero. He has personally attacked me because of speaking out on illegal immigration in public forums.

Give me a break. I have been on this issue since 2002, I know the players and the stance of most movers and shakers.

I have been aske to testify in Washington DC, I have lobbied in Springfield. I have been on Lou Dobbs, CNN, Neil Cavuto and dozens of radio shows, And you are asking Billy Boy his take on it?

BB,
You seem to be the one obsessed with Obie. I supported Obie in only 2 of his (how many?) races. I worked hard for Lauzen in the congressional primary. Just because CL, or I, or anyone says a nice thing about Obie, or a negative about someone else cannot be extrapolated into the broad generalization you make. Obie’s history. His supporters have moved on. So should you.

It seems that we’re all agreed that Bill, Dan and Adam are the only 3 worth considering. Kirk, Jim, Bob, Andy don’t have a chance with us.

So let’s put it out there:
What has each of them accomplished in the past 10 years?
Adam has accomplished a lot in the for profit sector.

Adam has accomplished a lot in the political sector, winning transparency and online accountability in local district after local district.

Dan built the O’Malley campaign into a conservative movement that for the first and only time became united in the ICRC (for a while).

Dan won local elections in the South, West and North suburbs for the candidates he managed.

Dan won the Republican primary for Jack Ryan in a crowded field (only to have given Jack the wrong advice which became the undoing of that campaign).

Dan has been an articulate voice on WLS for our side to give balance to the pro-Topinka people at WLS.

Dan also has accumulated baggage from the above successes.

And
Bill has accomplished what in Springfield?
Bill pressed a button on his desk to vote.

But where has Bill provided leadership and managed anything through the political process? Compare his lack of accomplishment with that of Rauschenberger, Lauzen, Fitzgerald, O’Malley, all of whom were Springfield at the same time as Bill and just as junior as Bill. Each of those FAB5 can point to major legislation that they pushed through.

Likewise, Dillard can point to successfully pushing Jim Edgar’s tax hike through the legislature. We don’t like that tax hike. But it shows that Dillard is a skilled player for the dark side who can get things done.

But what has Bill accomplished? I have yet to hear Bill claim one accomplishment other than to press the button on his desk.
