Maybe the real answer is that the Republican Party is a corrupted, spent force and who the Chairman of the RNC is doesn’t matter.

Mitt Romney (hiding somewhere):
”Now that my Romneycare (funded 50% by US taxpayers) is national, ready to hurt
Another three hundred million, a little self examination is in order for you Republicans.
You may want to ask yourself “if I had spent my time promoting, pimping and serving
RomneyCare and Mitt Romney, could not I have garnered more support
of both (Pres_ _ent) Obama and Mitt Romney?

Rush Limbaugh. Here's the catch: He can just run the party from his show.

He already does for the most part, I mean for GOP members who actually remember what testosterone is.

Little known outside of the north Jersey area, conservative Republican Brett Schundler, former mayor of RAT dominated Jersey City would handle the job well. His best move would be to start defunding RINOs.

I heard John Bolton speak at length on the Lou Dobbs Show a few days ago. I was driving a long distance and was able to give the radio my undivided attention.

I think he is terrific.

Thank you for mentioning his name.

I would love to see Sarah Run for the BIG SEAT!

. I am sure many conservatives will push for either Sarah Palin,Mitt Romney or Ron Paul

Erm, no. First of all none of them are the behind the scenes type, the kind of person you want in this job.

Not to mention Paul is libertarian who is outside the GOP mainstream who probably agrees with Steele's recent comments.

And Romney is pondscum.

I'd go for 1 of 2 guys who ran for this post.

Ken Blackwell or Katon Dawson who were 1 and 1A respectively in my book.

Agreed. I'm always wary of having a GOP chairman who either currently holds a major office or is likely planning to run for one. Their focus should be on building the party full time.

>> Not to mention Paul is libertarian who is outside the GOP mainstream who probably agrees with Steele's recent comments. <<

Indeed. He's said so publicly:

Republican Steele’s Afghanistan Remarks Praised by Ron Paul

Ron Paul backs Steele at RNC

>> And Romney is pondscum. <<

I would rate Romney the best of the Rudy McRomney trio, but that's not saying much. Romney has a track record of saying anything to get elected and voters don't trust him. Definitely a bad choice for RNC Chairman.

>> I'd go for 1 of 2 guys who ran for this post. Ken Blackwell or Katon Dawson who were 1 and 1A respectively in my book. <<

Dawson would be excellent in the post, as would Blackwell. Appointing Blackwell would netralize the MSM goons and the RATs from claiming the mean ol' GOP throws blacks under the bus. Of course I don't think they can select a new chairman until 2012, unless Steele is pressured into stepping down before then.

Yes with Dawson they would be crowing that the GOP “replaced a black man with a southern white guy who was a member of a segregated country club”. (Never mind that he had no idea that the club’s 80 year old deed made it “white’s only”.)

They can’t do that with Blackwell.

The chair can be removed I think, but the process is difficult. It won’t happen.

He’s in unless he resigns.

The big seat is the White House not RNC Chair.

Exactly.

That’s why Sarah should stay away from the RNC Chair. She has better things upon which to concentrate her energy.

Maybe I did not choose my words well.

Sorry. :-)

>> Blackwell is a horrible speaker. I vote for Liz if those are the choices.

I recall seeing an interview where I was dissappointed with his speaking presentation. Unfortunately, it’s a factor despite the content of his character. Maybe he was having an off day.

Generally, imperfect speech is not a problem within the Republican community, but once in the public forum, the Liberals can get real nasty and bully good people into the margins.

Gingrich shines brilliantly in this area.

Rubio would be a very good choice.

Would help peel off part of a huge ethnic voter bloc, and also he’s a photogenic more or less genuine conservative.

Goldwater w a sultry latin rhythm.
