Stephen Fincher is the Republican candidate for Tennessee's 8th congressional district seat. The seat has been held by democrats for over 100 years, most recently by John Tanner.
Fincher is a cotton farmer who has received nearly $3,400,000 of taxpayer subsidies - see http://farm.ewg.org/persondetail.php?custnumber=010829265
This amount is dwarfed by the amount taken by the rest of his family. He has known eating from the government trough all his life. It stretches credulity to believe that one so accustomed to the dole can be a real conservative capable of the fiscal austerity required to turn the country. Will he cut for everyone but his homestate contributors, including his family (examine his contributors report)? If so, how can he expect his peers to cut for their constituents? Can one live off the gub'mint cheese so long without being warped?
One person comented that this racket would make organized crime blush. Not only is this wealth flaunted by many of the recipients, they are quite arrogant about it, offering any number of rationalizations for their right to receive it. To call it "welfare" would be manifestly unfair to real welfare recipients.
Fincher states that when he decided to run for this seat he sat down and read the constitution. Sat down and read it at age 37? And we are supposed to believe this guy is a conservative?
I want this seat as bad as any conservative, but I'll be holding my nose (or wearing a gas mask) should I cast a vote for this guy.

The EWG site has farm subsidy information which is quite useful; however, none of its political agenda is endorsed. Take some time and look a the #'s.
Without knowing anything about this guy, I know it’s safe to assume zero military service will be noted in the biography.
What we have here is a Thoroughbred RINO, ready to run around the track displacing real conservatives!

Fincher had better be pro military. He’s going to represent a huge military constituency, both active duty and retired.
I voted for Dr. Flynn, but will support Fincher or any republican that doesn’t have horns on his head.
I hear you, but voting for someone who has made a substantial net worth at the expense of you and me is distasteful to say the least. $3,500,000 is a lot of kale.
Also, the hypocrisy of a candidate having a platform of cutting gub’mint while being a collossal recipient of the cheese is staggering.
Good thing Pelosi is in charge or I might strongly consider the alternative.........
Seems like a hypocrite to me. I can’t find constitutional authorization for these programs anywhere. Yet this guy is a champion of constitutional government?

Just put out a pres release against privatizing social security. He thinks politicians should control your money so they can spend it all on people like Stephen Fincher and his family.
This guy has gotten wealthy at the gub’mint trough. And now says he doesn't want you to have YOUR retirement money protected from politicians.
