Countdown to the Coming Republican Tsunami
Time Magazine ^ | September 7, 2010 | Mark Halperin

Posted on 09/07/2010 9:08:00 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Two months before Election Day, finding a pessimistic Republican strategist is about as tough as spotting a five-legged unicorn on your local interstate. 2010 started on an ominous note for the Democrats when Republican Scott Brown captured the late Ted Kennedy's Massachusetts Senate seat in a special election, and every dynamic that led to Brown's upset has survived or accelerated from late winter into spring, through the summer and now into the cusp of autumn. Republicans are either going to have a fantastic Nov. 2 — or a revolutionary one.

At stake is majority control of the House of Representatives (barring some unexpected turn, almost certainly going to the Republicans); control of the Senate (as of now, quite possibly going to the GOP on a state-by-state basis, and a near certainty if there is an electoral tidal wave); some of the biggest and most politically important gubernatorial slots; and a passel of state legislative seats and down-ballot races that don't get much attention but could be part of yet another major realignment of the balance of power between America's two major political parties.

Candidates, parties and allied interest groups have engaged in an unusually heavy flurry of summer communication with voters. The overflow of political money, the high stakes and, particularly for Democrats, an imperative to define the opposition's candidates for the voters before they define themselves have led to a message bombardment during barbeque and beach time. Labor Day, the traditional kickoff of the election home stretch, marked an even greater escalation by both sides in advertising and other forms of voter outreach. No matter where you live in the U.S., for the next 60 days expect to see and hear a lot of advertising about politics.

Something about hatched vs unhatched chickens comes to mind here...

Remember, the dems are still sitting on vast quantities of unused stimulus funds. Those dollars can buy a lot of votes.

Read the whole article, it touches on the Democrats funding and how it probably won’t help them much...

That have any chance of winning a seat? Not to my knowledge.

Money wasn’t enough for Murkowski, and its not helping Castle much either. People are pissed, very pissed, and money, while better than not having it, is just not going to buy what it does in an ordinary election year.

Remember GOP, these people like Democrat mouthpieces like Halperin are your blood enemies.

When they start talking up how good you are going to do in election, look for the hook.

I suspect they are going to play this up big then in a week or so some new “poll” is going to come out showing how “The Democrats are surging back”.

The media needs elections to be a horse race, a blow out is not part of their media template. It hurts circulation

I hope the Senate control will be enough to nullify the possible future impact of a RINO undergoing a party-change operation.

***************

They do not. They are as clueless as the French court and nobles in 1788.

The Republicans ought not be too smug either. This surge is away from the Democrats, but not towards the GOP as an institution. This turn towards the Republican ticket should be recognized as a providential lifeline, not a career ladder.

I don’t think it is gonna matter. Voters minds are made up and they are going to vote against anyone sporting a D next to their name. They will block political advertising out because they think it is all propaganda. The Democrat party is going to be judged for the time between January 2008 and now. They have no idea how much they have ticked people off but they will be finding out in November.

With a Holly Stake driven through ACORN'S heart, there is a better chance for a fair and legal election, but those bastards are still around hiding under rocks until the 11 th hour before the election. We must be continually vigilant and NOT over-confidant.

I'm glad to see the Republican strategists (finally) bucking up, but I've been saying since before Obama was elected, that this very thing would happen.

During the 2008 campaign, it became crystal clear that Obama was a jive-talking, crypto-Marxist, uber leftist thug, without a resume or a past.

I knew then, that if the Dems were crazy enough to elect him, that he would engender the largest OPPOSITION to a president that this nation has ever seen.

This is exactly what's occurring today.

Obama was wrong for America from the very beginning, and he will never be anything other than what he is. The opposition will continue until he is gone from OUR White House.

Yes the Republicans will more than like scored big this November, but will the ‘DemonRATS’ learn anything? I higly doubt it.

I have posted this before and I will keep posting it because I know in my heart that I am right about this, to many think that the upcoming November elections are going to reset everything. And I that NO matter how bad November is for the Democrats you can bet that ‘Zero’ will double down on his agenda. He is already doing it now, look at the new ‘Stimulas’! I don’t believe that the November elections will immediately change things as much as so many do.

Even if there is the BIGGEST turnover in history this November the Obama/Pelosi/Reid are such a pack of narcissist that they will come back during the ‘lame duck’ session and pass every far left-wing bill they can think of!They will burn the house down before they surrender it!

Even after the ‘lame’ duck session you will see the the greatest attempt by any President in our history to rule by executive order! ‘Zero’ KNOWS BEST what is good for us and he will act accordingly. No mere election won by a bunch of peasents or as ‘Zero’ discribe us: “And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.” To ‘Zero’ such a election will hold no meaning and only be the ‘peasents acting out’ and he knows what is best for those ‘bitter clingers’ and he will do it to save them from themselves!

If anyone thinks that a big loss in November will make one iota of difference in Obama and the ‘Demonrats’ leftist agenda you need to seek professional help immediately, because I assure you that the sounds you will hear coming from them after such a lost will not be the ‘wailing and nashing of teeth’ it will be the notes of El Degüello.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKD5TgHWyxM

IMHO the November elections will NOT provide the immediate relief we think, but will instead bring us to what I call a National ‘Battle of Athens’ moment ( http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~tnnews/kns001.htm )A time in which it will require action to secure our vote and save the Republic.

[Democratic legislative achievements, like health care, are being used against the President’s party,]

That’ll happen when you shove a hated gov’t takeover of healthcare down the throats of the American people over their screams of STOP. They sleazy tactics that the Rats used to do so only compounded that anger!

When they start talking up how good you are going to do in election, look for the hook.

Won't do any good, this time around. The nation has been seriously injured by the Democrats, and the people are angrier about it than they've been in generations.

The Democrats (and the RINOs) are still playing by the old rules, but the people have returned to the really old rules.

Bottom line - this is a revolution in the making.

Let’s wait and hope that it’s not a tsunami of RINOs. We will soon find out if they are when they continue to ignore:

1. The Muslim problem. It is an ever increasing problem and the nation should start to face it now before it becomes too difficult to handle.
2. The question of Obama’s eligibility. The eligibility issue must be addressed and should no longer be swept under the rug. Our national security is at stake. If we do not know who Obama is, how will we know where his loyalties lie?

NEW economic plans! Whooopeee!

I wonder if the plans would include spend and tax more money we don’t have? Naw, these are NEW plans!

I am little suspicious of the liberal MSM media.

They are the propaganda arm of the Democratic Party.

They will use every device at their disposal to keep people from voting GOP.

On the other hand, if the GOP does win, it will be fun watching the media go into a multitude of apoplectic seizures.
