Potential 2012 Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, looking to bolster his foreign policy credentials, is on a Mideast swing that included a visit to Afghanistan on Sunday.
Romney senior adviser Eric Fehrnstrom said Romney met the commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan, General David Petraeus.
Romney, former governor of Massachusetts, ran for the Republican presidential nomination in 2008 only to lose to John McCain. He has shown multiple signs of planning to seek his party's nomination again for the right to oppose Democratic President Barack Obama in 2012.
Romney could be among as many as a dozen Republicans seeking the party's nomination.
"The purpose of the trip is not to conduct private diplomacy but to give Governor Romney a first-hand look at what is happening in an important region of the world," Fehrnstrom said....

Why won’t Mitt just go away? Mark my words, I’ll sit on my hands before I would vote for him!
Geeze Nimrod, you ain’t uh gonna make the nomination...
You’re retired now act your age and start spending that hard earned money of yours on more fruitful activities.
Oh wait, you spent a considerable sum the last time.
That didn’t work out too well.

Romney for President "
God help us all, if the GOP screws the pooch, and gives this imbecile RINO the nomination........
I'm officially in the ABR club, anybody but Romney (for the GOP nomination).

Shouldnt that be Middle East ??? Middle Eastern ???
But dont mind me...

“Romney, former governor of Massachusetts, ran for the Republican presidential nomination in (2012) only to lose to (Sarah Palin)”
Don’t worry.
If he’s the GOP nominee, the GOP will have so completely jumped the shark that a third-party candidate will have a serious chance of winning. Never thought I’d write those words. But there is enough discontent in this country that it is now possible.
I felt that way in 2008........
I don't feel better now, I feel worse.........
I just wish the miserable sumbitch would just go away. The power brokers want him and that will be tough to overcome.Closing the primaries would be a start and one of our biggest obstacles
I’m with you. No Romney or no money and help. Romney, go away.
Why wont Mitt just go away?
The GOP old-guard is so afraid of the tea party movement that they have lined up early behind a single candidate in hopes of blunting any tea party backed candidates (including Palin).
Phase 2 will be the insertion of candidates to split the conservative vote away from the tea party candidate. The talk about Huckabee and Pawlenty getting into the race is really a fade to draw votes away from the tea party candidate.
Their hope is to have a repeat of the 2008 primary. Conservatives split their vote and the RINO establishment candidate gets the nomination.
If hes the GOP nominee, the GOP will have so completely jumped the shark that a third-party candidate will have a serious chance of winning. Never thought Id write those words. But there is enough discontent in this country that it is now possible.
But once he gets the nomination the MSM will blast it all over the place (in an effort to get conservatives to stay home), and they very well might. Any conservative that learns of Romney’s actual record as governor is going to be horrified. Gov. Mitt Romney actually makes Gov. Arnold Swartznagger (sp?) look conservative.
Imagine if Arnold Swartznagger was the GOP presidential nominee? Romney’s record as governor is not only to the left of Arnold’s, it is worse (Romney left office with only a 30% approval rating, that’s why he didn’t run for reelection).
Romney is a disaster waiting to happen for the GOP.
