Senator Dick Durbin appeared on CNNs State of the Union and told Candy Crowley that Sarah Palins gun imagery of targeting certain congressional districts was beyond the bounds and not acceptable rhetoric. Although when pressed by Crowley, Durbin did not want to suggest there was a direct connection between the rhetoric and yesterdays shooting of Congresswoman Giffords, nor whether there was similarly unacceptable rhetoric amongst Democrats.
Durbin explained:
We live in a world of violent images and violent words, but those of us in public life and the journalists who cover us, should be thoughtful in response to this and try to bring down the rhetoric, which Im afraid has become pervasive in our discussion of political issues. The phrase dont retreat, reload putting crosshairs on congressional districts as targets these sorts of things I think invite the kind of toxic rhetoric that can lead unstable people to believe this is an acceptable response.

This is the #2 person in the Senate. The same individual who called our Soldiers and Marines "Nazis" if you've somehow forgotten or didn't hear about it.

Just for a little perspective.
"Abraham Lincoln (1865) - killed by John Wilkes Booth, a Democrat
James Garfield (1881) - killed by Charles J. Guiteau, a Democrat
William McKinley (1901) - killed by Leon Czolgosz, Democratic Anarchist
John F. Kennedy (1963) - killed by Lee Harvey Oswald, Communist
Attempts on:
Andrew Jackson by Robert B. Randolph, Democrat Liberal
Franklin D. Roosevelt by Giuseppe Zangara, Democrat Liberal
Harry S. Truman by Pedro Albizu Campos, Nationalist Socialist
Gerald Ford by Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme, a follower of Charles Manson, Socialist
Ronald Reagan by John Hinckley, Jr., Registered Democrat"
We can now add Giffords shooting to this list.

Did Durbin have anything to say when Obama called on his hispanic followers to punish their enemies? when he told his supporters to “bring a gun”, when he quoted well known advocate of violence Malcolm X(”By Any Means Necessary”) to whip up black crowds in advance of the SC primary?, when his fellow dem from IL Rahm Emanuel said any of the tough-guy things he did? Or any of hundreds of other examples I could cite?
Of course, no one in the media will ever bring up anything Obama or any other dem ever said.

Durbin compared American GIs to Nazis and Communists. He maintained this blood libel for several days, retreating into a non-apology apology only after Democrat powerhouse Dick Daley said the remarks were “disgraceful.” (Daley had a son serving in the Army at the time.)
Durbin also torpedoed decent, fair minded Southern judicial candidates with fabricated out of whole cloth charges of racism. One , Mississippi Judge Pickering, had the support of most of Mississippi's prominent black leaders. A slanderer and a character assassin: some guy to be lecturing the rest of us about civility and measured rhetoric.

There was a post earlier about a group called ‘21st Century Democrats’ that Durbin founded and something that they had done regarding a threat of violence about conservatives.

Palin needs to put these scumbags in their place.
That’s what a leader would do.
