BEWARE The GOP is trying to slip us the Jebbie!

Need to Know January 18, 2011 Ahead of the curve! Lib writer praises Jeb Bush Posted by Staff Ezra Klein writes:
I think Jon Chait gets Jeb Bush very wrong here. When Bush says that "second-generation Hispanics marry non-Hispanics at a higher rate than second-generation Irish or Italians" and that "second-generation Hispanics' English language capability rates are higher than previous immigrant groups," he's directly answering a critique that has a lot of power among anti-immigration groups: that there's something different about this wave of immigrants as compared with previous waves of immigrants.

The libs are indeed "ahead of the curve" trying to stick us with the jebbie, who they feel is sufficiently liberal just in case but very likely to roll over like McVain did in 2008 for the Bama.
Apparently the jebbie is busy pandering to Latinos with "outreach" in Florida, trying to position himself for the GOP nomination in 2012.
I'd rather vote for Obama than the jebbie. Might as well get it over with. The jebbie would be just a slightly slower death, and more painful at that.

Jeb's is the least desireable of the Bush's - he's a one-note charlie.
Unfortunately that one note is a doozey.

The establishment knows if they have a candidate and the conservatives are split between 10, they will have the upper hand.

"second-generation Hispanics marry non-Hispanics at a higher rate than second-generation Irish or Italians" So a high percentage of second-generation Irish and Italians marry Hispanics?
I did not know that!.

that there's something different about this wave of immigrants as compared with previous waves of immigrants. There is. In the old days, you worked or starved. Which meant assmilation. Not anymore.

Jeb Bush cannot win the Presidency under any circumstances. You can bet on it.
To: Ummah Gummah
I’ve had about enough of the Bushes. God bless them and all. The two Bush Presidents were ok, except 9/11 attach which W did a good job. They both gave in to often to the left. I realize you have to comprise at times and there is some give and take. But, W should have put his foot down more often and called Barney and Dodd on the housing collapse.

No matter what people think of Jeb, effective outreach to hispanics is extremely important. Otherwise we’re leaving a vacuum where the Dem lies about Republicans being anti-immigrants (instead of just anti-illegal immigration) and anti-hispanic will burry us in the near term and the long term.
To: Ummah Gummah
They slipped us the RINO McCain last time, praising him to high heaven right up to the nomination. We must not let them do this again. No more Bushes indeed.
To: Ummah Gummah
Democrats want Jeb Bush for President? Oh yeah, that’s president material. Shheesh!
Another Bush just because he’s married to a Mexican?
But they might not like his other agendas just as they hated GW for his. lol

reading both articles, I don't understand the context.
Is Jeb talking about legal immigrants ?
If so, then why is this a story?
if he's talking about illegals, nowhere is the word illegal or “undocumented” mentioned.
To: Wolfie
We also didn't have the welfare state. 53% of immigrant headed households are on welfare. The Hispanic out of wedlock birthrate is 50% and the school dropout rate is approximately 50% as well.

Let me give you the best reason of all for voting against Jeb Bush: A 3rd President Bush within living memory would make us look like a "banana republic."
In 1989, Bush the Elder became President. He was replaced by Clinton. Clinton was replaced by Bush the Younger. If all of the political punditry had been right in 2007, he would have been succeeded by Clinton's wife!!! Good grief!
So now after the Kenyan Marxist's interregnum, we would go back to...another BusH??? Are we kidding here?
Of course, a banana republic is better than a Marxist Worker's Paradise.

No matter what people think of Jeb, effective outreach to hispanics is extremely important.
Wrong. What you do is present a strong set of good principles, and the hispanics will come to you. That should be relatively easy, considering that the Democrats support every abomination there is.
"Outreach" means that you are tailoring your platform to specific issues for one particular group, which is also known as pandering. If pandering becomes your strategy, then it will be merely about who gives away the most goodies to that particular group, usually at the expense of all other groups, and at the expense of whatever principles you had. Furthermore, when it comes to giving away free goodies to various special interest groups, the amoral Democrats will ALWAYS do it better and with greater gusto. Don't try to compete with your enemies in areas where they are strong and you are weak.
If the GOP just stands up for what is right and good, the hispanics will come. Anything else will result in failure.

“W did a good job”
What kind of kool-aid are you drinking? Bush was a liberals dream president. His spending was only exceeded by Obamah, the government grew like mad under his direction (no child left behind, prescription drugs for seniors etc.) He gave us McPain. The guy did a terrible job.

There really seems like an elite small group of players. I think that is why Palin and the Tea Party are such a threat. The answer is not another Bush, Clinton, or an administration full of ex-clinton, Bush, Goldman Sachs people.
