You are only describing part of Palin’s voter base. A lot of people don’t pay as close attention to this stuff as Freepers do.

In any event, I never said that Trump would get a LOT of votes, only that the votes he gets may not come out of Romney’s hide, which the previous poster had suggested.

Trump has money and name recognition. Voters have short memories. Even a 5% draw may make a difference in a crowded field.

But of course I don’t think he has a chance of winning the nomination. He CAN help shape the race by spending $$$ attacking candidate X so that candidate Y needn’t get his hands dirty.

Trump declared bankruptcy to avoid paying his $40+ million debt citing “an act of god” clause for the 2008 market crash “noone saw that one coming” then sued his debter for giving him a bad name

Whatever your rationale is your business.....I’m single minded this time - no diversions, no quarter from my objective. It is her, or it is nothing. I will not be McCained again, even if it means sitting out a non-Palin ticket vote come 2012. If that happens we are too far gone anyway.

I supported Romney in 2008. I won’t this year, and I think branding him as the anti-Palin is a big mistake.

I wish Pence were still around. So it goes.

If at least one conservative would throw her/his hat in this race and actually act committed about it, that will be enough. It would be best that the vote didn’t get split.

Michelle? Are you listening? :)

I know they say a Congressman can’t win, but so far all my favorites have been.

Huh, a few weeks ago, a friend of mine posted a story from Zero Hedge, which merely had an ancillary link to HuffPo, and it got yanked. Admin Mod said that HuffPo was verboten (apparently, even if the the source is not the HuffPo, but merely links to it). So what's the deal, is HuffPo banned or not?

Shouldn’t be too hard.

Mitt is indeed anti-Palin...he is nothing like her.

How many of the early primaries you listed allow crossover voting? I can see the Dems going big for Mitt as their version of Operation Chaos.

Romney is my last choice. As in 3rd party.

I can see the Dems going big for Mitt as their version of Operation Chaos.

A lot will depend on whether Obama draws a serious opponent (a la Ted Kennedy vs. Carter in '80). Assuming Obama is unchallenged, I don't see the crossover Dems providing a unified bloc for Romney.

Long forgotten fact, REAGAN benefited heavily from cross-over voting in '76 in the south, and in heartland states like Indiana.

Anti-Palin must mean...
- anti-common sense
- anti-conservative
- anti-second amendment
- anti-likable
- anti-capable
- anti-beautiful
- etc.....

You may be right but I could envision Olberman and Soros pushing the Dem Operation Chaos HARD for Romney.

It would pretty much guarantee a split in the anti-Obama vote in November. I believe Baraq has rock solid support in the low 30% range and even with 10% unemployment and $4 gas could pull off a Clintonian plurality win.
