According to a new poll, 51 percent of Republicans who intend to vote in their party's primaries do not believe that President Obama was born in the United States. Among these birthers, Mike Huckabee is the preferred candidate with 24 percent of the vote, followed by Sarah Palin at 19 percent, "someone else" at 15 percent, Newt Gingrich at 14 percent, and Mitt Romney at 11 percent. Unfortunately for the birthers, though, Huckabee, the winner of the birther primary, has made it clear that he doesn't subscribe to such conspiracy theories.
As he said on Geraldo at Large on July 26, 2009, "The reason that we knew this wasn't true is that I promise you that Hillary Clinton and her very careful research would have found this out." As he was drowned out by crosstalk and Geraldo's laughter, Huckabee continued, "I kept telling people, there's no way this would have escaped them, and they would have pulled the trigger on it long before the election."
Is it possible that birthers realize Huckabee isn't one of them and prefer him anyway? Sure. After all, there's nothing that says birthers have to make birtherism their No. 1 issue. But, at least on the question of Obama's natural-born citizenship, Palin seems to be the prospective candidate they should be rallying around, since she told a talk-radio host in December of 2009 that "the public rightfully is still making [Obama's birth certificate] an issue."

Everybody should be required to show proof. I don’t care if they are lily white. Prevent this nonsense in the future.

Dumbo Anderson Cooper doing another story on “birthers” now, with yet another hostile interrogation, I mean “interview”, this time with Gov. of Montana. Ugh - now he’s dishing with Jeffrey Toobin. Guess there are presently 11 states in various stages of legislation to require proof of citizenship on presidential candidates! They’re going nuts over this (AC abd JT now). LOL
He absolutely verbally crucified Col. Lakin and his attorney before on this subject. What an SOB, I’ve gotten to where I can’t stand AC, I just often check to see what and whom he’s going to have on.

After seeing what happend in 2007/2008 I think we all way overrated the Clintons and their political mastery.

I think Bill was supporting her run with his mouth, but not his heart. He might not have wanted to be upstaged by his wife, too.

Many if not most of the people in 0bama’s admin are Clintonistas, and money pours in to the various Clinton enterprises like the Library, and charities and “international funds” pretty much without oversight by anyone. And she gets to run around the world making deals* while 0bama sits in DC and tries not to smoke.

Pubs wanted McCain to run against Hillary so bad they violated their oaths to uphold the Constitution by accepting McCaskill’s deal. Passing HR 511 would guarantee McCains acceptance, if Pubs let Obama be eligible. Hillary knew she had the nomination already, so Obama was not a threat. But she got fooled as did the Pubs. I think the PTB stepped in at the secret closed session on Mar. 12, 2008 and decided what was going to happen.
Howard Dean illegally forced her delegates to vote for Obama as their nominee. Hillary was out and McCain never stood a chance against the chosen one. Hillary, who along with McCaskill and Obama was on the Senate Judiciary, dared not admit she knew all along that Obama was not eligible. She may change her mind, ask forgiveness, and oppose Obama in 2012.
With all due respect, you are correct. It is a big deal. What it is sorting out is true Constitutionalists from Republicans.
I'm sick of this "big tent" compromising. Liberals never compromise (unless it's bad for the country of course).
To borrow from Reagan, "I didn't leave the Republican Party, it left me." Sometimes I don't care who wins the next election. I have less and less in common with the Republican Party as time goes on.
We need to send them a copy of the National Examiner, Feb. 14, 2011 which shows a pic of the Kenyan BC and Gov. Abercrombie admitting, “We can’t find Obama’s U.S. BC!”
Maybe we should send a copy to O’Reilly, Huckabee and Anderson Cooper as well as some senators and reps.

It still surprises me that people continue to think Hillary (or “her people”) is a genius. Did it ever occur to anyone that the MSM, the poltical establishment, and the public are that lazy and stupid? Did anyone ever notice how the Clintons careened through life, from scandal to scandal, and wonder whether they’re just lucky?

You are watching the smokescreen being refreshed. “Birthers” is a useful description, since for President and Vice President only, our framers took their guidance from the Romans, the French, and The English, who all determined that to be a trustworthy citizen required the citizenship of that citizen's parents - often called "birthright citizenship." The British were more restrictive. Naturalized, that is non-naturally born subjects, could not participate in the Parliament - one must be a "birthright subject" or, from "natural law" a natural born subject. Of course, natural born subjects cannot be King or Queen, so the hierarchies are not one to one. “Subjects look up to a master, but citizens are so far equal, that none have hereditary rights superior to others.” (Dr. David Ramsay, Dissertation on Character and Privileges of a Citizen of the U.S., 1790)
Do you think Huckabee knew that Barack’s father was never a citizen? If he did, do you think he'd admit it? Do you think Huckabee believes that silly old Chief Justices like Marshall, Waite, and Evans Hughes are believable? They range from the 18th through the 20th centuries, and this is, after all, the twenty first! Might Huckabee have read justices James Wilson, James Kent, or Joseph Story? Might Huckabee have heard of the 14th Amendment, which defined naturalized citizens, the kind of citizen Barack/Barry is, and said he was (but only if born on our soil)?
Legislators might consider ignorance of the Constitution they have ignored an advantage. Unfortunately, every senator, in 2008, admitted that natural born citizens have two citizen parents. SR 511 was a ploy to end questions about McCain, whom the Democrats wanted as their opposition, because McCain's eligibility problems would silence any Republican who should have asked about Obama’s British Citizenship. John McCain knowingly provided cover for Obama’s illegitimacy. That will be his final legacy. We know Obama’s origins from all his Marxist/Communist mentors. It was McCain who betrayed his nation by his complicity. The Ruling Class depends upon the short memories of the proletariat.
