Cain Thanks Palin for Publicizing His Column
Time Magazine / RealClearPolitics ^ | February 23, 2011 | Scott Conroy

Posted on 02/23/2011 10:17:04 AM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Herman Cain may be a longshot Republican presidential hopeful, but the former CEO of Godfather's Pizza showed on Tuesday night that he is a savvy enough politician to take advantage of some free publicity from a far more well-known potential GOP contender.

When former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin posted to her Facebook page and her Twitter feed a link to a column that Cain had penned for Investor's Business Daily, the Atlanta businessman responded within minutes to underscore the high-profile exposure by thanking Palin over Twitter and adding an additional link to his piece for anyone who had missed it.

Cain's weekly commentary that Palin publicized was titled "Merely Taking Positions Is Not Leadership" and began with a jab at the press -- a device that Palin is no stranger to employing in her own public comments.

"All the attempts by the media to make stories out of the budget battles going on in Washington, D.C., will not change the bottom line of how it will end up, no matter how many ways they try to create a story," Cain wrote. "Namely, the taxpayers will get stuck with more debt and more taxes again."

Cain went on to chastise President Obama's proposed budget while praising the leadership of Republican governors Scott Walker of Wisconsin and Rick Snyder of Michigan....

But I thought the media said she was all about herself and no one else?

Its the opposite. She (and a very short list of other conservative possible-candidates) have wasted no energy attacking fellow Repubs. She has focused all her fire and ammunition on the Obamists. She sees people like Cain and other conservatives as allies, not rivals. She sees Obama and his gang as her target. She sees anyone helping to stop him as her team-mate to be supported. Guys like Huck and Romney will never get that.

It's never going to happen. No name recognition, political experience, ability to raise money, governing experience adds up to no nomination. He might not even beat Duncan Hunter's record of 2008.

I like him a lot, but losing your ability to see clearly over liking him isn't a good thing.

It seems to me that a strategy is starting to appear. Sarah Palin will not run as an individual. She will run with a hand selected team of fellow-travellers. They will form a self supporting Juggernaut. The beauty of this strategy is that when one is attacked, the others will defend. That is how the press works. It has worked for them and it will work for Sarah and her team.

A football analogy (apologies to basketball) has Sarah as the quarterback. She needs backs, receivers, and linemen. The coach and the playbook are the founding fathers and the constitution. Watch out, nobody else is even thinking this way.

Well, Ol' Sparky can't post from liberal attack sites any longer if he wants to remain on FR, so now he's demanding comment from Palin on the story about Obama going against DOMA.

Somehow, I sincerely doubt someone like Cain or Bachmann would think highly of Sparky's approch here. Both Bachmann and Cain appreciate the visibility Palin can bring to issues. Which makes one wonder just how conservative Spanrky really is being.

But I thought the media said she was all about herself and no one else?

One of the things I like about Palin is that she doesn't hesitate to use other people's ideas and give them the credit for it.

I don't want some sort of "super-pol" who has an answer for everything. I want someone with the wisdom to recognize good ideas, the humility to use them without needing to take credit, and the savvy for making those ideas work together in a cohesive manner.

I have a new tagline. Remember the EF Hutton commercials?

Here’s to Libya’s Freedom

by Sarah Palin on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 9:59pm

"It’s a little perplexing looking at the White House today. There was a statement on the horrible earthquake in New Zealand, and certainly our hearts go out to all those affected by this horrible natural disaster. But nothing on the slaughter in Libya? The protests in many places in the Middle East affect regimes that have cooperated with the U.S. on issues from peace with Israel, fighting al Qaeda, hosting our military forces, or cooperating against Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Gaddafi’s Libya is different. For four decades, this tyrant has held power. Gaddafi was Osama before Osama hit the scene. He ordered the bombing of a disco in Germany to kill Americans. When he paid the price for that – after President Reagan rightly ordered retaliation – he directed his agents to blow up Pan Am Flight 103. They did, and more than 250 innocent people died. Gaddafi tried to come in from the cold in 2003 – scared by the demonstration effect of Iraq. But we should have no illusions. Gaddafi is a brutal killer and Libya – not to mention the world – would be better off if he were out of power. Now is the time to speak out. Speak out for the long-suffering Libyan people. Speak out for the victims of Gaddafi’s terror. NATO and our allies should look at establishing a no-fly zone so Libyan air forces cannot continue slaughtering the Libyan people. We should not be afraid of freedom, especially when it comes to people suffering under a brutal enemy of America. Here’s to freedom from Gaddafi for the people of Libya." - Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin tells GOP to get behind insurgents

"And Palin imagined herself as the quarterback of a free-flowing Republican offense, fueled by members of Congress, conservative columnists, and even former president George W. Bush - each with an assigned role.

“I’d say ‘DeMint, you’re awesome, we need you down South,” she told the Iowa Republican Party’s annual Ronald Reagan dinner. “Mitt, go West. GW, we need you to raise funds. Kristol, Krauthammer – you gotta go East.”

Palin said former Bush adviser Karl Rove – who has criticized Palin’s Delaware protégé Christine O’Donnell – could come do his penance in Iowa, where he “will see the light and realize that these are just the normal, hardworking, patriot Americans who are saying, 'No. Enough is enough. We want to turn this around and we want to get back to those time-tested truths that are right for America.'”

Palin/Cain 2010.

Let’s have Rep/Col. West rise to a House leadership position.

2012.

I like that. But maybe it should reversed.

Sarah is a lot younger than Cain. Therefore, she could take the Presidency in '16 or '20.

Either way, I support both of them.

OTOH, BHO was loaded with political and governing experience, a wide-open record of his lifelong experiences, his educational and intellectual development and achievements, all while interracting with the people of America in their daily lives.
He could have been constitutionally qualified, as well, if only his father had been an American citizen.

What has she done other than find a way to make lots of money?

Back when she was mayor of Wasilla, she left the city $20 million in debt. She left the state of Alaska with debts equal to 70% of its GDP. She taxed oil companies. She vetoed legislation that would have stopped homosexual government employees from receiving same-sex benefits. She, with no remorse, appointed a former Planned Parenthood board member to the Alaska Supreme Court and has never had anything but praise for the judge.

Typical smear tactics by Palin worshipers.

No, as a conservative I have a problem with a politician that:

1) Runs up massive deficits every time she is in charge. She ran Wasilla into $20 million of debt before moving on to increase Alaska's debt problems. 2) Taxes oil companies. 3) Appoints and PRAISES pro-abortion, former Planned Parenthood board members to Supreme Courts. 4) Tweets support for lesbians like Tammy Bruce who are on the air supporting the repeal of DADT and Christian bashing. 5) Veto legislation prevent partners of homosexual government employees from receiving taxpayer money.

Promoting censorship? You're a pathetic joke, a whiney little bitch. FR has long put limits on what can be posted here when it comes to liberal claptrap. Censorship is when the government tells you what can and cannot be posted. Freedom of association is as much a Constitutional right as freedom of speech. Jim said keep it up, and Ol' Sparky will no longer be associated with FR. As is his perorgative on his website.

Oh, and just because somethilng is published in the Anchorage Daily News, it doesn't make it any less of a pantload. Something conservatives understand. And you don't.

Oh, and I'm not a blind worshiper of Palin. I have my own concerns about her. I just don't think liberal crap is a normal means to discuss her possible candidacy. You apparently do.

So what other PDS crap are you going to spew, dipweed?
